I Think They Love You by Julian Winters (1/28/25)

When Denzel “Denz” Carter’s workaholic father and CEO of 24 Carter Gold unexpectedly announces his retirement, the competition is on for who will become his successor. To convince his family members that he’s capable of commitment, Denz impulsively lies about being in a serious relationship. Now Denz needs to find a fake boyfriend to seal the deal on the CEO position. Denz is forced to turn to the last person he wants to be in a pretend (or any) relationship with: Braylon, the man who broke his heart.
Braylon’s sudden reappearance in Denz’s life turns everything upside down. But, apparently, he needs Denz’s connections to the mayor to win his own promotion. So, they strike a deal. It’s all business until the funny texts and the confusing kisses leave Denz struggling to separate this temporary arrangement from the affairs of his heart.

    All the aforementioned books sounds great, but I had enjoyed reading some Sophie Sullivan books before and I’m looking forward to her upcoming one.
    The Alexandra Vasti book also got my attention since I have a book of hers in my TBR. Also got a Charlotte Stein book in my TBR, too.

    Earl Crush sounds like a fun read with the concept of the real Earl not knowing that his brother was writing to her on his behalf. Makes me want to see how things turn out eventually.

    Earl Crush, Let’s Call A Truce, and Get Lost With You appeal the most. They have characters that are not really what they seem and relationships that develop based on those misconceptions. It shows how we can misread someone and find yourself in a very different situation than you expected. People are very different and nicer than we often think they are.

    Earl Crush – has a lot going on-historical romance, mistaken identity, marriage of convenience, espionage, searching for a brother who impersonated him, heiress, wallflower, lots of unanswered questions

    Never Planned On You – title tells it all
    Your life’s direction changes when a second chance meeting disrupts your game plan
    I like a wedding planner who has a drunken past experience with the would be groom.

    Let’s Call A Truce work place relationship with an antagonistic coworker changes when the single widow with 2 children is forced to work with a coworker who did not think she had what it takes to succeed and she proves him wrong while falling in love with him.

    Let’s Call a Truce sounds promising, but I tend to side-eye books that have hints of The Hating Game. THG is an all-time fave and I’ve yet to read an office romance that comes close. I’m definitely reading Charlotte Stein’s My Big Fat Fake Marriage. Love Stein.
