A Charming Single Dad by Heatherly Bell: Jordan Del Toro is in Charming, Texas as the wedding planner for her brother’s wedding. She is old fashioned and has a planner in her hands most of the time as she checks off the to do list. What she hadn’t planned is to have Rafe Reyes show up to be her brother’s best man. Jordan has tried to move on after Rafe broke her heart in the past.

Rafe had been very close to two of his military comrades. When the man who was his best friend dies in combat he’s talked into marrying his best friend’s wife so she will have someone to help raise the baby on the way. Rafe realizes it was a mistake to marry someone her didn’t love, but little Susan is so adorable and full of fun as she grows. Rafe finally decides he has to get a divorce and deal with custody arrangements. He has been able to take Susan with him to the wedding gathering.

Even though Jordan had problems with Rafe’s issues before he got married, it still wounded her deeply. When she finds out he is now a free man, will she be able to forgive him and perhaps have a future despite her living in LA instead of Texas?

Jordan had moved forward by dating a man named Geoff. It’s easy for the reader to see he’s not right for her. Yes, it seems Jordan is very driven in her own career. I admired her in many ways. Her instant rapport with Susan was so heartwarming.

Susan was adorable and so precocious, even though some of her profound statements echoed her mother.
Rafe had mistaken loyalty and duty to his best friend for his mission to make things right. It’s obvious from the start that he has never gotten over Jordan. The story about their second chance romance is sweet .

Despite all the drama with families and events, there is some humor and a little suspense as plans go awry.
I loved the setting near the coast of Texas and all the lovely wedding and party scenes. Even though this novel is #4 in a series, you can read it on its own.

I am a recent fan of author Heatherly Bell. I look forward to reading other books in this series and from her backlist.
