REVIEW: A Cowboy Kind Of Thing by Reese Ryan

Reese Ryan is a new to me author. After reading A Cowboy Kind Of Thing, I have become a huge fan. I love Western/cowboy stories and she has included her distinct voice to make this one a standout for me.
Dionna Reed is in the small town of Royal, Texas, far away from Los Angeles where where she is part of a small studio. She is happy to help her best friend, Ari, plan a wedding there. Ari is a starlet who suddenly can’t make the planning sessions, so she puts Dionna is place to make decisions.

Tripp Noble has a ranch in Royal and is happy to help his friend Xavier with wedding plans on for his part of the wedding with Ari. Xavier bales, too, so it’s up to Dionna and Tripp to make some choices for their friends. Tripp will have a hard time with convincing Dionna that Royal can be a desirable venue instead of LA. While they explore and enjoy meals, Tripp has it in the back of his mind that Xavier told him not to get involved with Dionna. Will that be possible with her allure that has Tripp fascinated? Can he stick to the idea that long term relationships aren’t for him?

The romance between Tripp and Dionna certainly comes to a full boil. Of course, with the Harlequin Desire the reader expects lots of spiciness. I loved both the main characters. They had both worked hard to get to where they were and are very loyal to those close to them. The descriptions of the places they went and food they ate were vivid and made it all easy to visualize everything.

I am thrilled that Harlequin has more diversity in the love stories presented. Those of us loyal readers come from many different backgrounds and love tales that touch our hearts. The first time I attended a romance book convention, I said to myself these people are my part of my tribe. I will continue to find new novels and authors thanks to Harlequin.
