In Her Cowboy Hero by Tanya Michaels, Colin Cade has been running from his memories and the loss of his wife and child. So when he gets fired for supposedly having an affair with the boss’s wife, he needs to find another job before his family asks him to return home. Which is how he finds himself taking a job nobody wants to take, helping the widow Shaw. He expects her to be an old eccentric woman, but to his HCHsurprise she is nothing like that.

After being raised in foster care, Helen Shaw finally had a family when she married, but shortly after loosing her husband she also lost her in-laws, now all she has is her son. Helen is positive that she can turn her ranch into a B and B, she just needs a little help to make it happen. She has to make it happen in order to secure her and her son’s future.

So when Colin Cade shows up asking about the job, she couldn’t be more happy, she cannot pay much which is how she only has a geriatric cowboy for help now. But if Colin is willing to work for her she will entice him with her cooking and a place to stay. She is known for her cooking, having her bake for events is how she makes a little extra money to help support them.

At first Colin is reluctant to accept the job, but with the great food he cannot say no so easily, the only bump in the road is when he meets Helen’s son, Evan. A child that reminds him of his own kid, and one he cannot stand to be near. But Evan is a sweet boy, and so full of life that even as he wants to stay away from him, he soon starts getting close to both mother and son. But his stay is only temporary and he doesn’t want to hurt them when he leaves. The downside to that is that they are also getting under his skin and it will be hard to leave them.

I really liked Her Cowboy Hero, Colin is an tortured hero but one that will stop and help even as he is still running from his own demons. Which is what he does for Helen, he sees that she needs help, and while at first he believes that it is hopeless, he will not stop trying to help her. Helen is a great heroine, she had a rough childhood and she always wanted a family of her own. But even after all life handed her, she is still a very positive person and looks on the bright side, especially for her son Evan. The story itself was great, it had everything I like in a romance story, some sweet moment, a few sexy ones, a few heartbreaking ones and some fun ones that makes everything worth it. A perfect ending to such a sweet series.

If you like a sweet and fun read, don’t miss Her Cowboy Hero by Tanya Michaels.

He’s Just The Hired Help…

What kind of cockeyed Pollyanna is Colin Cade working for? Her porch is rotting, her “guest cabin” is cheerless and her land and livestock have only a geriatric cowboy to care for them. Yet Hannah Shaw is positive she can turn her ranch into a successful B and B–and that Colin’s the man to make it happen.

But Colin can’t stick around. He lives with the loss of his family by avoiding the memories, and the way he feels around Hannah and her young son is like a knife to the heart. Trouble is, he’s better at ignoring his own pain than someone else’s, and bright, cheerful Hannah has a heart as haunted as his own. She deserves to be happy–but could she really be with him?
