Hometown Holiday Reunion by Mia Ross: I think this may have been Hometown-Holiday-Reunionone of my favorite books to read and review this month!

I loved the story of Cam and Erin, how they meet as adults, after her having been his best friends’ tagalong little sister when they were younger. Erin makes her home and her life in Oaks Crossing, while taking on the responsibility of a foster son she wants to adopt, while Cam has returned to town to care for his mother after she has a stroke. Cam also has to deal with his long lost father returning home, wanting to make amends. This forces Cam to wrestle with his long held hostility and hatred for the father who deserted the family years before. Yet his father treats Cam’s mother with great tender care during her continued recovery.

Meanwhile, Cam is helping Erin put together the specialty animal shop she wants to own below the apartment she rents for her and her foster son. Erin is pursuing adoption and must first meet with her son’s birth mother. This is emotionally wringing to say the least! The way that both Cam’s family and Erin’s family, and eventually the town come together for Erin’s son really proves the saying “it takes a village”. I now want to read the next installment of this series, and I heartily recommend “Hometown Holiday Reunion”.

Returning home to take care of his ailing mother, Cam Stewart reunites with his best friend’s little sister. And while Erin Kinley is still a firecracker, she’s grown from an annoying tagalong to a beautiful woman and devoted foster mom. She and Cam still drive each other crazy…until Erin turns to Cam for comfort during a stressful adoption process. Cam’s fractured family had him convinced he’d never be a dad, but suddenly he’s considering two things he never thought he would: having a family and staying in Oaks Crossing. Could Erin and her son be everything he’s longed for?
