Montana Vet by Ann Roth: Finding volunteers and staff for a shelter is not easy, and having the vet leave could close it down unless a new vet agrees to volunteer his or her time. Emily has so much on her plate as it is, taking care of her rescues, raising money to keep The Wagging Tail open, and her own job to survive. Which is why Emily will do just about anything to have a new part time vet volunteer.
So when a surly teenage girl shows up wanting to volunteer in order to get school credit, Emily doesn’t know if she will accept her at first. That is until she finds out that her guardian happens to be the new vet in town. Now she just needs to convince him to accept the job and she will let Taylor, his ward, do her community service at her shelter. But the longer she spends time with Seth the more attracted they are towards each other.
Seth doesn’t know what to do with Taylor. Ever since he got custody after her mother’s death, Taylor has not been easy to deal with. She doesn’t talk to him and hates everything that he decides to do or not do. Now they are living in Montana, with him trying to establish his practice, while she only wants to return to San Diego and her old life.
But things are not always what they seem, and Emily, her shelter and her pets in need of loving families will have Taylor opening up and realizing that life in Montana may not be that bad. Which is how Emily gets closer and closer to the temptation that is Seth, and which neither can afford at the moment.
But how long can a person stay strong when true love knocks at their door? Well, Seth and Emily will find out soon enough that you can’t ignore or turn your back on true love, and only with them bring honest and open will they be able to form the family they want with Taylor.
If you like animals, a sexy vet, a troubled teenager and a kind-hearted woman, you will love this story. Taylor will be the biggest challenge that Emily and Seth will have to face, but the one that brings them together and keeps them together in the end.
