In My Silver Lining by Laura Pavlov, When Lulu Sonnet rolled into Rosewood River to stay for three months before leaving for Paris, she couldn’t wait to spend time with her best friend, Henley. Even better? She gets to stay in Henley’s boyfriend Easton’s house in the picturesque small town. But Lulu had no idea that Easton’s too-charming-for-his-own-good brother Rafe was staying in the guest cottage right next door. And from their first meeting–where she may or may not have accidentally thought he was a robber and punched him in the throat–Lulu knew Rafe was trouble. At least when it came to her heart. Because he captivated her right away. So, she knows better than to ask him to be her fake boyfriend for a family event, but she has no other choice. And she knows more time with Rafe could mean a greater risk of falling for him.
‘The gray area had grown so large that everything was basically gray when it came to my relationship with this man.’
Rafe honestly had no idea what to think about Lulu after she almost maimed him on three separate occasions. But he’s more than intrigued with everything about her. And it just so happens that her need for a fake boyfriend for her grandfather’s birthday celebration coincides nicely with Rafe’s need for a fake girlfriend to take to his boss’s wedding. While he loves it when a plan falls into place, he doesn’t realize that the more he gets to know Lulu, the more obvious it is that she’s it for him. But she’s only in Rosewood River for three months. Leaving Rafe to wonder if that’s enough time to enjoy whatever is blossoming between them. Or if he’ll have to find a way to convince Lulu that they deserve to give things a real chance.
‘I’d always been a guy who lost interest fairly quickly, but that was not the case with Lulu. I was all in. Sure, I knew she was leaving, but I wasn’t holding back. I didn’t want to.’
A romance with small town charm, a kind hero with incredible sex appeal, and a feisty heroine who could take care of herself (thank you very much), MY SILVER LINING was an amazing addition to Laura Pavlov’s Rosewood River series.
‘I was lost in this man. And I wasn’t going to fight it anymore.’

Have you ever read a novel where you just instantly can’t get enough of the main characters? To the point that you’d want to spend time with them in real life, just knowing you’d have a blast? That is exactly how I felt about Rafe and Lulu in MY SILVER LINING, standalone book two in Laura Pavlov’s Rosewood River series. Everything about the couple felt right. How generous and innately good they were. How funny they were together. The fact that they would call each other out when warranted but were supportive the rest of the time. And the banter! It went from flirty and entertaining to breathtakingly sexy in a heartbeat and then back to flirty again seamlessly.
But it was the cast who stole my heart and never let go. Starting with Lulu in all her sassy glory. She was an absolutely kickass heroine who might have grown up wealthy, but she was down to earth and adored the tiny town of Rosewood River. I literally laughed out loud with each interaction Lulu and Rafe had. Particularly because even though she nearly caused (accidental) bodily harm to him on several occasions, they both ended up laughing it off soon after. That’s the kind of bond they shared and the type of caring but independent woman Lulu was.
As for Rafe? As Lulu said, ‘Holy. Freaking. Hotness.’ Pavlov broke the mold when she put him on the page. He was just the right mix of charming, charismatic good guy, and had a fabulous dirty mouth. But it was how supportive he was as well as how deeply he loved his family that melted my heart. We should all be so lucky as to have someone like Rafe in our life.
QOTD: Lulu and Rafe toyed around with the idea of a long-distance relationship. Do you think they can work for some couples–or know anyone who’s made it work?

Lulu Sonnet is the bane of my existence.
She’s caused me more physical pain than any man should ever endure.
From an accidental throat punch to a near death by shovel—
Don’t even get me started on that vicious pool ball accident where she almost robbed me of my family jewels.
She’s a hot little heathen, and what’s worse?
She’s staying in my brother’s rental house while I’m temporarily living in the guest house.
And now she needs a favor.
A fake boyfriend.
I’ll dote on her for a few weeks, she’ll return the favor so my boss’s daughter will stop nagging me, and then we’ll part ways.
It seems simple enough.
Until we end up in the same shower.
And then the same bed.
The lines are blurring.
She’s beautiful and fierce and sexy all at the same time.
But Lulu isn’t staying in Rosewood River forever.
The place I call home is just a pitstop for her.
But suddenly everything I thought I wanted is no longer important to me.
My fake girlfriend has turned my world upside down.
And now nothing feels right without her.
