Nine Months to Redeem Him by Jennie Lucas is a well written romance with the pregnancy plot. The story is written in first person with the heroine,Diana as the narrator. Edward St. Cyr was introduced in Uncovering Her Nine Month Secret by Jennie Lucas and I was excited to read his side of story in this one. He is a dark, cold hearted hero who does not believe in love anymore and does not allow himself to care about that emotion. At the start he was quite rude and cynical but towards the end I loved how he redeemed himself when he got to know about the heroine’s pregnancy. Diana has been burned before and she does not want to risk her heart again. After playing safe and following rules all her life and still getting betrayed by the people she trusted, she decides to let herself loose and have a fling with Edward. The romance was intense, passionate and starts out as a purely physical relationship. The characters have been friends for two months before they finally get into the friends with benefits part.There was angst but it was not that overpowering.
He gave me a crooked grin, then looked away. “But I always imagined love to be an action, not a word. If I loved someone, I wouldn’t say it, I’d show it. I’d take care of her, putting her needs ahead of my own. I’d put my whole soul into making her happy… .”
Overall, Nine Months to Redeem Him by Jennie Lucas is a well written intense romance and is for everyone who likes sexy alpha heroes who need the right woman to make their heart beat again!
