Out of Control by Teresa Noelle Roberts:  Jen is an starving artist and works a couple of jobs in order to make ends meet. Glass blowing brings in some cash, but not nearly enough to sustain a living on, at least not yet. She rents a small, affordable apartment in Drake’s Victorian home and within minutes of meeting each other, their sexual chemistry is acknowledged. In addition to work and great sex, Drake finds time for controlmartial arts and running. Jen barely has enough time to eat and sleep, while working and creating pieces for her next craft show, which eventually catches up with her.

I really struggled to get through this book because the plot is virtually non-existent. The story is about the relationship between Jen Kessler, a very talented glass artist and Drake Matthews, a math professor at Cornell University. When they are not working, which is most of the time, they are having kinky sex, and the endless cycle continues over and over and over. This is a BDSM themed book and almost every chapter includes somekind of bondage, spanking, and tethering, as Drake teaches Jen all about submission. Jen loves being controlled in the bedroom and Drake loves providing her with pleasure through any means possible.

There was one major conflict in the story that added some realism, because it put a crack into Jen and Drake’s kinky relationship. Their feelings have evolved into much more than the typical dom/sub arrangement.

I liked Jen’s ability to experience life via the color spectrum. Her passion for color is equal to her passion for being controlled sexually. Jen’s powerful imagination is constantly converting images, sounds, and feelings into colors that she eventually will craft into a beautiful piece of glass blown art.

If you are looking a book that is very light on story and heavily into BDSM, than Out of Control is for you. I prefer some kind of balance between plot, romance, angst and sex. I end up becoming disengaged from books that lean heavily toward one theme, which definitely happened as I was reading Out of Control. Nonetheless, Ms. Roberts crafts scorching scenes for the BDSM lover to enjoy.

“He s got her tied up, but she s got him out of control. ”

Glass artist Jen Kessler has hit the jackpot a cheap apartment in a charming Victorian house, complete with a sexy, intense, buttoned-down landlord who may or may not have a riding crop in his bedroom.

She s not looking for a lover, but when her innocent, impulsive hug sparks kisses as hot as molten glass, it leads to bondage, spankings, and more naughtiness that, up to now, she had only tasted.

His new tenant may have wild, dyed hair and an unconventional job, but Cornell math professor Drake Matthews admires the work ethic that got her out of debt. Then he s stunned at how quickly she destroys decades of his carefully cultivated self-control.

Soon their sexual and emotional passions push them to the edge and beyond. But it s not all good, dirty fun. As Drake takes more and more control of Jen in the bedroom, her deeply ingrained independent streak pushes back. And it ll take more than a shared penchant for ropes, paddling, and coffee to overcome pasts that could unravel their relationship before it begins.
