Stranded with Her Rescuer by Nikki Logan: Kitty has thrown herself into her career and climbing the ladder as a reporter ever since she last saw Will. Kitty used to be more of an adventurer and a free spirit; she traveled where she wanted to and pursued subjects she felt passionate about. Now she travels so much that she lives out of her suitcase and her apartment doesn’t feel like home.

Will wants to live his life in peace and quiet. He enjoys being a recluse in the Canadian wilderness with only his dogs. After losing his wife years ago, he appreciates the simple life without romantic entanglements. All of that is interrupted when Kitty’s plane makes an unexpected landing and she needs a place to stay.

‘I’m grateful you can give me a bed,’ she finally said. ‘And that you remembered me.’
Those eyes came up. ‘You thought I wouldn’t?’
She swallowed against their blazing focus. ‘Wouldn’t remember me? Or wouldn’t help me out?’
‘Either.’

They have a complicated history. Kitty and Will shared a powerful, yet impossible, attraction and they parted under bad terms. Neither have forgotten each other, nor the feelings they experienced. Kitty is torn between getting on the next flight back to LA and work and experiencing more of the beauty of the landscape and wildlife. Will can make for a generous, kind, yet gruff, host and guide when he chooses to. Neither are ready for the attraction they experience once again, nor the specter of the past they can’t escape.

‘And did you get your answer?’ she whispered.
‘Yeah,’ he breathed, his face perplexed. ‘I did. But like all important questions, answering it has only raised more.’

Stranded with Her Rescuer is a sweet second chance romance set in the stark and beautiful Canadian winter. Nikki Logan created interesting characters and settings with vivid descriptions. Ms. Logan provided a good balance of the past and present with good character development. Fans of Beth Andrews and Sophie Pembroke will enjoy Stranded with Her Rescuer.
