United By Their Royal Baby by Therese Beharrie: In the fairy tales it’s so much easier, there is someone planning to keep a couple apart but in the long run they end up happy and better than they ever could have been without the drama. When real Prince’s and Princess’s fall in love that is a whole other story though.
Leyna of Aidara was a Princess until one day, what she thought would be the happiest of her life, she became a Queen and everything changed. From that day forward her life turned upside down and she wasn’t even sure who she was anymore. Could life get more complicated?
Xavier of Mattan was a Prince and then a King, but the day his best friend became a Queen, that was a day he would always remember and not fondly. There were many things that he then had to deal with and to be honest he wasn’t sure he knew how so he moved forward doing as his family requested, not really paying much attention to his heart.
When Leyna and her best friend Xavier are reunited and forced to make some decisions in their personal life based on their kingdoms all the plans that they once had come into question and neither are sure what is going to come any more. Will this be just an alliance or will this become the fairy tale ending everyone is hoping for?
Ms. Beharrie has offered her readers a different take on the fairy tale in this novel and to be honest I’m not sure how I feel about it. It’s not a long book, but it feels like there was a decent amount left out as to how they came out to these feelings. There was also a weird amount of in and out for secondary characters. She did do a wonderful job setting up the next novel in the series. Xavier and Leyna are well done though in that they become more and more lovable as the story goes on. This is a nice novel worthy to pick up for a good distraction.
