Hi Terry and welcome to HJ! We’re so excited to chat with you about your new release, Billionaire Wolf for Christmas!
Everyone Should Have a Billionaire Wolf for Christmas
From A Billionaire Wolf for Christmas:
Staring at the blood sample under the microscope and the notes scribbled on paper nearby, gray wolf Dr. Aidan Denali convinced himself he wasn’t going to get anywhere with this. Not without new wolves to test. As much as it killed him to do so, he was giving up on his research on finding the cure for the lupus garous longevity issues before the Christmas holiday.
But giving up is easier said than done. When he has a new lead and the opportunity to rescue an old wolf banished by the Seattle pack and living in the wilderness, Aidan has a new mission.
It’s Christmastime and as he shops for his young nephew before heading to the mansion of a cabin, he ends up rescuing a little boy at the mall, who happens to be from the Seattle wolf pack. Not only that, but he meets up with the doctor of the pack and for the first time ever, he’s thinking of something other than his research! Not that he doesn’t want a sample of Dr. Holly Gray’s blood too—he can’t help that he lives and breathes his research—but for the first time, he sees a she-wolf as a lot more than a research tool.
Holly is also looking for her banished pack member to see if he’s okay. Aidan and Holly work with his bodyguards and search for the former Seattle pack leader, and Aidan has every intention of finding a new home for him. Trouble befalls them every step of the way as her leaders are against any outside wolf interference, and the weather, the setting, and wild wolves give them even more trouble.
The problem with trying to find a cure for anything is you know there are going to be bad guys wanting it for their own gain, right? Yep. That’s what happens. So it’s a wild ride, between trying to find time for romancing the doctor, having a lot of Christmas cheer, and doing a whole lot of research, protecting, and fighting.
I’ve written about the disagreeable Seattle pack before, so it was fun to flesh them out a bit and show that not the whole pack is the problem, just the leadership.
The setting of this story comes from several factors: My dad and his family were from the state of Washington and I’ve been there on US Army Reserve duty. I loved it there. When we lived in Oregon, we would go up to see Mt. Rainier and the snow. It’s just beautiful. I wanted to set the story in the beginning in a wilderness location, and found all kinds of exciting things to give them trouble.
Inspiration for the story struck in a different way. Some years ago, I watched the “Doll House,” and there were two doctors, a woman and man, doing research at different locations on people, working for the same company. He was the semi-good guy, and she was the evil woman, but I thought how fun would it be if Aidan found a she-wolf doctor who could aid him in his research? And the idea was born.
But solving the question of their longevity took real research. But will they find the research to create a cure before wolf packs get out of control doing anything they can to grab it themselves?
Thanks for blogging at HJ!
