*It’s always been you
* Matchmaking with a Twist
*Only One Bed
* Wedding Fun
*Small town
Please share the opening lines of this book:
“Ready or not, here I come!” Hunter opened his eyes and immediately spotted his adorable target’s small rainboots sticking out from behind a stack of hay bales. “Hmm…where could Princess Pipsqueak be?” he asked, really playing it up.
His niece, Jenna, chose the same spot inside the barn nine times out of ten, and his heart gave a little kick every time.
Please share a few Fun facts about this book…
- There’s a nod to my first trip to London in the book.
- There are lots of fun Fall activities in the book including a corn maze and costume party.
- The room at the inn where Hunter and Callie get stuck is modeled after a room at The Madonna Inn in San Luis Obispo, CA.
- The story Hunter’s dad tells about gold on their ranch is based on a true story from the 1800s.
- Callie gets an eyeful of Hunter the first night she stays with him. 😉
What first attracts your main characters to each other?
Hunter’s been in love with Callie since they were teenagers. He’s attracted to her warmth, kindness, confidence, and beauty. Callie falls for Hunter’s loyalty to his family and friends, his care for others, his energy, and his butt. (Let’s just say Callie gets a delicious eyeful.)
Using just 5 words, how would you describe your main characters”love affair?
Magical, passionate, genuine, emotional, slow-burn.
The First Kiss…
He bent his head slowly, giving her time to back away or shake her head or speak her objection. One kiss. He needed to brush his lips against hers just once to seal this moment in their memories.
The closer her got to her mouth, the mouth he’d dreamed about for years, the faster his heart beat. She’d been reluctant the last time he’d gotten too close, and he’d stop the second she gave any sign of hesitation.
But she didn’t.
Her long, dark eyelashes swept down. She tilted her chin up. Thank the heavens he had her agreement. He might have died right there on the spot otherwise.
“You sure?” he whispered, needing to hear her permission, too.
“Yes.”
Without revealing too much, what is your favorite scene in the book?
One of my favorite scenes is when Hunter and Callie are together for the first time on the page and she’s at his home to watch over him as he recovers from a Black Widow spider bite…
“I’m going to pretend you didn’t say that and assume your fever is making you delirious.”
He put his palm on his forehead. Yep, a definite heat wave was happening.
Wait. He didn’t normally feel himself while dreaming. Was Callie actually sitting in his bedroom? Or had he died and gone to heaven?
“You’re not a figment of my imagination?”
Rather than answer him, she got to her feet, came closer, and put out her hand.
For him to touch.
Hot damn. He still wasn’t clear on why she was here, but he didn’t care. She’d never offered any part of herself to him before, so he’d take it. Her light green eyes were softer than he’d ever seen them and her curly hair wild, like she’d been here all night, sleeping on his couch.
If your book was optioned for a movie, what scene would be absolutely crucial to include?
Their first morning together, when their navigating this new relationship of theirs…
“Hunter?” Callie waved her hand at him.
“Sorry. Zoned out there for a minute. Sounds like we’ve got ourselves a solid plan for living together.”
“We’re not living together,” she argued, without an eye roll this time. “I’m just staying with you for a little while.”
“That’s called living together,” he quipped, teasing her. “But don’t worry, I won’t make it so fun you’ll never want to leave.” Or would he? Again, his brain could only handle so much in his compromised state. Plus, he had to tread lightly so as not to scare her away.
But she surprised him with a smirk in her gaze when she said, “I’m prepared for your level of fun.”
Readers should read this book …
Because it’s a sweet, sexy, fun, small town romance that I hope makes you smile.
What are you currently working on? What other releases do you have planned?
I’m working on a brand new single title that is top secret at the moment. 🙂
Thanks for blogging at HJ!

Excerpt from The Matchmaker and The Cowboy:
“Hey.” Hunter took her chin gently between his warm fingers and tilted her face toward his. “Did you know it’s illegal to be unhappy while eating pizza?”
She shook her head out of his hold. “Really?”
“Yes, it’s in section two point three of the Life Is Better manual.”
How on Earth was she supposed to think him anything but charming? And when he added that bone-melting smile of his, she once again understood why so many instantly fell for him.
“You’ve got this manual memorized?”
“Most of it.”
“What else should I know?” Finished eating, she reached for the stray pillow that had been separated from her bedding and laid down on her back, her head on the pillow. From this angle, she could comfortably stare up at his handsome face.
His eyes roamed over her body. In her leggings and hoodie, she looked sloppy at best, but appreciation clearly sparkled in his gaze. A little shiver shot through her.
“Section one point seven states that business owners are not allowed to mope on their first day in their new shop. It’s bad for future business.”
“I’m not moping.”
He raised his eyebrows.
“Anymore,” she amended. Then she gave him a big smile. “What else?”
“Section three point five states that fake smiles are not allowed and grounds for tickling.” He dropped his third slice of pizza in the box, moved to his knees, and tickled her. She didn’t have time to scurry back or push his arms away before his hands were on her sides making her wiggle and laugh.
She retaliated, his stomach muscles flexing as she tickled him back. There wasn’t an ounce of fat on him, his lean body hard yet pliant. Unfortunately, he wasn’t nearly as ticklish as she was. Her hoodie rose, and his fingers slipped underneath, making contact with her skin. His hands roamed higher as she tried to wriggle out of his grasp.
Eyes locked on one another, they laughed and didn’t let up, an unspoken challenge between them to see who begged the other to stop first. He definitely had the advantage, but she didn’t mind. She didn’t mind his hands on her. Not one bit.
But then his knuckle brushed the underside of her breast, and he froze, as if realizing just now that he’d slipped under her sweatshirt.

Book Info:
Callie Carmichael has a gift for making bridesmaid dresses—some even call them magical. Somehow, every person who’s worn one of her dresses has found love. Real love. And as long as that happily-ever-after is for someone else, Callie is happy. Because she’s fully over getting her heart broken…which is why her new roommate is definitely going to be a problem.
After being overseas for six months, Callie’s only choice is to stay with her best friend’s ridiculously hot brother, Hunter Owens. Cowboy, troublemaker, and right now, the town’s most coveted bachelor. Only, Hunter isn’t quite the player she thought. And if it weren’t for her whole “no more love” thing, their setup could get confusing really fast.
Now, Hunter wants Callie to make him a best man suit—a “lucky for love” kind of suit. But what happens if she makes the suit and he finds true love…and it isn’t her?
