In Blame It on the Rodeo by Amanda Renee, Lexi Lawson has been keeping a secret for the past thirteen years from Shane Langtry. He was the love of her life and her everything, but when he cheated on her and got another girl pregnant, his parents made him marry her, leaving Lexi hurt and alone.

Blame It on the RodeoNow Lexi is a veterinarian and has returned home to work with the Langtry family. But that does not mean that she has forgiven Shane, even though soon after the birth of his supposed son the real father came to claim his child, the fact that he cheated on her is not something that Lexi could forgive easily. And due to his infidelity she had to make a choice that changed her life and a secret she has kept from everyone for the past thirteen years.

Shane has been trying to get Lexi back since her return to Ramblewood, but things are not easy. She has not forgiven him for his mistake, and the fact that he has slept with just about every single woman in town doesn’t help him at all. And even though he has changed and has not dated anyone in a few months, she has not let him get any closer to her.

But working together on an almost daily basis will bring them together more often than Lexi wants. And fate has her own plan for them, when the secret she has been keeping finds a way to their town and into the Langtry ranch without any of them being the wiser. Now Lexi is in a horrible place where she can find out if her suspicions are correct but hurt everyone involved in the process or continue hiding it from everyone and live with the pain and hurt by herself.

I loved this story, life is not easy and forgiving an infidelity is definitely not easy. But the consequences can sometimes reach further than others may think as is Lexi’s case. Her strength to make the right decision and live with it is amazing, not many could live with it like she did. And Shane has a lot of growing up to do and he will definitely do a lot of growing up in one single summer, learning that life doesn’t always revolve around him and that he has to think about others and about the consequences of his actions. I didn’t like him that much when he tried to pin everything on Lexi, but when he accepted his own part on what happened and learned that forgiveness was something that went both ways. Well that just gave me hope that he would be able to have the HEA with Lexi and make the family they would’ve been if he had not made a mistake so many years ago.

For a heartwarming, down to earth and really entertaining read, don’t miss Blame It on the Rodeo by Amanda Renee.

Woo hoo what a great review, Can;t wait to read this book, I loved the first two Ramblewood books in this series.

It is part of the Ramblewood Series, but it also stands alone on it’s own. Book 1 is Betting on Texas, book 2 is Home to the Cowboy, book 3 is Blame it on the Rodeo and the rest are coming soon. My website lists them in order with a blurb about each one. http://www.amandarenee.com

This sounds like a great review. I’m glad that Lexi didn’t forgive Shane right away after finding out that it wasn’t his kid. Forgiving someone for cheating is hard and I cannot imagine how anyone can do that without a lot of work from both parties.

It was a great read, and I totally agree with you. Forgiveness should take hard work from both parties and should be earned.
