One-Secret-Night-One-Secret-BabyOne Secret Night, One Secret Baby by Charlene Sands: Ever had one of those nights you couldn’t remember, but you couldn’t forget either?

Emma Rae Bloom had always been the good girl. From her childhood she learned she had to rely on her self to be independent and to take care of her. She did have a best friend though and she was great, warm and welcoming not to mention her family. That was the catch Emma had a crush on her best friend’s brother and she had for a while…

Dylan McKay had it all, right? A loving family, a great career as a movie star, and people he could trust. Then his life took an interesting turn. His best friend was tragically killed in a stunt, he was missing part of his memory and he was just so very lost. It was a good thing his little sister and her best friend were around, they would help him, right?

Emma knew she had to help Dylan when he lost his memory, it was just part of who she was but how long could she keep this secret? When it came out would it ruin him? Her? Them?

Ms. Sands has given us another great novel. It steps up the best friend’s brother genre adds suspense and yes even a secret baby into the mix. When you take all of these and add some amnesia into the mix you might think things will just get muddy and mixed up but with the word choices and the sequenced flow Ms. Sands uses you get swept right into a story that would have even a harden heart melting. It’s not always pretty in this world, but that only adds to the appeal as it helps to make it real. This is a good read.

During a city-wide power outage, Emma Bloom turns to her old friend Dylan McKay for help. The Hollywood heartthrob comes to her rescue, action-hero style, and sees her safely home. But what happened next? The details are blurry—because Emma was tipsy, and an on-set accident leaves Dylan’s memory of that night in tatters.

But soon irrefutable evidence surfaces: Emma is pregnant. It’s hard enough sharing her secret with a man used to fending off scheming women. But Dylan does the right thing and proposes. And then, one day, his memory returns…
