Seducing the Girl Next Door by Inara Scott is a wonderful second chance romance. Ms. Scott’s books and novellas always keep me glued to the seducinggrilnextdooredge of my seat and this one is no exception. This novella packs a lot of heat and passion into an engaging storyline.

When Jenna Kellington and Simon Hastings were in high school, they were best friends. They did pretty much everything together, which included some really hot make-out sessions. In fact, to this day, Simon never forgot the sweet little moan his administrations elicited from Jenna. Then Simon moved away and as a result, they both felt like a part of them was missing. Overtime, they lost touch, but they never forgot how they felt about each other. Now years later, they meet again on a job assignment in Beijing, and spend the next twelve days completely immersed in one another. Jenna and Simon are amazingly steamy.

Presently, Jenna is a divorced mother of three, successfully navigating a new career and a new home in Denver. Simon is a partner in a very progressive venture capitalist organization, which keeps him traveling the world while earning him and his company lots of money.

I really liked both Jenna and Simon. Not only are they terrific together, they are unique as individuals. Jenna is finally finding herself after years in a platonic, yet comfortable marriage. She needed more from life and decided to go out and capture it. She is smart, sweet and loves her family very much. She also loves sex, so having Simon back in her life, helping her shed her sexual inhibitions and insecurities is arousing to read about. Simon associates the warmth of home and stability with Jenna, which is what he lacked throughout his childhood by moving to another city every few years. Simon’s fear of commitment is almost demolished when he is with Jenna. Having her in his life once again causes him to see his future in a brand new way.

This story is a winning combination of friendship, desire, and love. I immediately connected with Jenna and Simon and there was never a moment that I did not want them to explore a future together. Overall, a terrific read.

When Jenna Kellington was fourteen, her first high school boyfriend—her first love—moved away. Now the years have passed. Jenna has been married, a mother of three, and divorced. But it took a business trip to Beijing, China where Jenna finally reunites with Simon Hastings…finding a pleasure she never dreamed existed.

Billionaire venture capitalist Simon Hastings swore he would never be like his father, moving from place to place and never settling down. Still, he’s never forgotten Jenna, or that spark they once had that’s grown into very adult desire. With every touch, every caress, Simon shows Jenna how to let go. How to feel pleasure. How to own her own sensuality. But Simon will never settle down, or take the risk of love.

And now it’s too late. For Jenna has broken her own rule, and fallen fast—and hard—for the man she can never have…
