Stealing Jason Wilde: A Novel by Dee Ernst is an amazingly funny book about friends and stealingjasonwildethe old adage, “What happens in Dune Harbor, stays in Dune Harbor”. This is about what happens when four women take there annual girls week in Dune Harbor, and end up having the adventure of a life time.

Each year, Deb, Anne, Kelly and Tina take a trip to Dune Harbor, although Tina does not go every year, and sometimes there are other women that join them, this year is just the four of them. Thinking that they will be spontaneous, they decide that this year they are not going to map out their days. Now what you need to know is that Tina is obsessed with one actor/television star, Jason Wilde, and knowing that he spends his time at the Americana Hotel not far from there vacation home on Dune Harbor, she talks Anne and Kelly into staking out the place in hopes of running into him.

When they do, invite him for drinks and he promptly passes out from the combination of pain meds that he is currently on and the alcohol that he has consumed, they have not choice but to take him back to there place to sleep it off. But when his manager get the brilliant idea to help jump start Jason’s career by telling the police and the FBI that he has been kidnapped by a bunch of women, it will lead the soccer moms to take drastic measures to try and oust their unwanted house guest.

Adding to the humor is that the very handsome, very interesting man that Anne has met at the bar, and is stating to spend some quality time with is none other that the very Special FBI Agent that is assigned to the Jason Wilde Kidnapping Case. Can these four “harden criminals” find a way out of this situation without Anne losing the first man that she has had any kind of feelings for since her divorce, or will she lose her chance at her HEA and face a life in the “big house”.

OMG! I laughed my way through this amazingly funny, amazing sweet kick off the summer read. Between Jason and his lack of brains, his agent and his lack of planning ahead, Tina and the restraining order, and her little dog Muffie who loves to greet everyone with a growl and a happy leg hump, my sides hurt by the time I was finished. I don’t want to give too much away, but if you are looking for a book that will kick off the summer in a perfect way, than I would highly recommend that amazing book.

After her divorce, librarian Annie Reynolds thought she’d closed the book on love for good—it just wasn’t part of her safe, comfortable routine. But if there’s anyplace she can relax and have a little fun, it’s Dune Road, where she and her closest girlfriends return for their annual getaway in the Hamptons. She knows it’s just what she needs to escape her empty nest (and empty bed).

A chance encounter with a ruggedly handsome local promises Annie just that. But when one of her friends turns a simple flirtation with B-list movie star Jason Wilde into seduction—and Jason accidentally mixes a few drinks and his back-pain medicine—the ladies end up with a very high-profile houseguest. The media calls it a kidnapping, and before long, the FBI is on the hunt.

Soon the ladies’ tame little trip has turned into the adventure of a lifetime. But will this case of mistaken misdoing sabotage Annie’s second chance at love, or will she have the confidence to take matters into her own hands to find her happily ever after?
