Sugar by Seressia Glass: Charlie has wanted Siobhan since he first saw her while delivering flowers for her Sugarbusiness partner. Ever since then, he has made a point of stopping by their café when he knows she’ll be working. Since he runs his own successful business, he finally approaches Siobhan with a business proposal that will allow him to get to know her.

Siobhan has made quite a few mistakes in life and she’s just looking to keep the status quo. The scars are still fresh from her divorce and the fact that she’s estranged from her family. She misses having a man in her life, but she won’t jeopardize the life she’s worked so hard to rebuild. But she wasn’t expecting Charlie.

“The way I see it, we have a couple of options here. You can decide not to do business with me, in which case I’ll pursue you. You can sign the contract and I’ll assign you to one of my employees so I can pursue you. Or, you can sign the contract and I handle your business because I’m very good at what I do. And when business hours are over, I’ll pursue you.”
Those beautiful scarlet lips bowed into a smile. “Is there any scenario in which you don’t pursue me?”

Siobhan is a strong, independent woman who has reclaimed her sexuality in her hobby as a burlesque dancer. Charlie is persistent and oh so charming. She can more than hold her own with any man and in fact turns Charlie’s world upside down when their chemistry finally erupts. Charlie may be younger, but he is exactly what she needs.

Their fling burns hot, but Charlie wants more. Siobhan isn’t sure that she’s ready for more since that means being vulnerable and telling Charlie all about her past. His easy acceptance of her as a dancer helps, but she’s still battling shame and guilt over the past. Charlie represents everything she doesn’t believe she deserves.

“Taking care of you takes care of me. It’s what I do.” He grinned at her. “Besides you took care of me last night.”
“Charlie…”
“I’ll even throw in a massage.”
“Ooh. So not arguing anymore.”

Sugar is an entertaining and steamy read with a good balance between the burgeoning romance and character development. Seressia Glass provides a great relationship with plenty of give and take between Siobhan and Charlie. Ms. Glass also created great secondary characters in Siobhan’s friends and Lorelei. Fans of Stephanie Tyler will enjoy Sugar.
