REVIEW: The Soul Mate by Kendall Ryan

The Soul Mate by Kendall Ryan is book four in the Roommates series and takes an interesting look into the surprises that may come from a one-night stand. In this witty novel, two people indulge in a night they will never forget.

Bren takes her friend’s advice to get laid and meets Mason. They both hit it off quickly and burn the sheets up. They don’t get each other’s last names and when morning comes, Bren splits. Mason wakes up disappointed and can’t seem to get Bren out of his head. Good news for Mason, though, he will be seeing her again.

When Bren starts to question whether or not she’s pregnant, her friend, gets her an appointment with her OB-GYN. Guess who ends up being the doctor??? If you guessed Mason, you would be correct! Tons of awkwardness to be had at this point.

I enjoyed both characters, but I really loved Mason. Right from the beginning he wanted Bren. Baby or no baby, he was going to pursue her. He was sweet, charming, and looking for the right woman. Bren didn’t want a relationship but she had her reasons. It was fun to see Bren fall in love with Mason. This author took the pregnancy trope and took it into a whole different wavelength, and I appreciated that. Overall, a quick read with many light-hearted moments.

The smoking-hot one-night stand I was never supposed to see again?

Yeah, well, I might be pregnant, and he’s my OB-GYN.
