Beau: Cowboy Protector by Marin Thomas
Publication: October 2012 by Harlequin
Back Cover:
Beau Adams can’t stop thinking about Sierra Byrne. Her feisty spirit and ample curves dominate his thoughts, while he should be focused on getting himself and Midnight, the Harts’ prized stallion, to the National Finals Rodeo. When Beau and Sierra’s electric connection finally leads to a steamy night together, Beau hopes it’s the beginning of something more.
As much as Sierra wants to be with Beau, anything long-term is out of the question. A recently diagnosed eye disease will soon leave her blind, and she can’t ask a rising rodeo star like Beau to take on that responsibility. Though she tries to pretend their tryst was just another item on her bucket list, Sierra’s true feelings run a lot deeper. Will she let her affliction steal not only her sight, but her dreams of happiness, as well?
Review:
This was book 5 to a truly stunning series. This time around we got to see what lies behind the strange attitude of Beau the twin of Duke who we met earlier. And we also get to learn more about the medical condition that Sierra suffers from.
The book was a truly touching one. The author took me on a real bawling my eyes out roller coaster. I mean how sad that Sierra finally finds the man of her dreams but will he still want her when he finds out about her “secret”. Just as the title suggests Beau protects his own and he is also quite handy with his hands.
He has set his sight on a championship and much like the rest of the characters we have met in the series he has one thing on his mind and one thing only except staying focused is dang hard when Sierra keeps creeping into his thoughts.
I loved how the author perfectly picked up where book four left off and also gave me more information on the mysterious Tuf (Tomas).
The author brought Sierra and Beau together in one of the most heartfelt manners I have read in a long time.Well done Marin!

Lovely review, Sara! Author is taking a risk with Sierra’s condition, but it’s what makes this book stand out. Brava to Ms. Thomas!

Sara, thanks for the great review! I have to admit this was one of the most interesting, difficult, fun books I’ve ever written.
Natalija, you said exactly what I was thinking when my editors handed me Sierra’s character bible–I was afraid Sierra’s eye disease might turn off readers so with encouragement from my editor I tried to keep Sierra a sympathetic character who shows real emotion when she learns about her eye disease but also show her fighting spirit in the way she deals with it. Hopefully readers will agree with how I wrote her. Thanks for leaving a comment!
