I don’t know if this is considered Chick Lit or Women’s Fiction But this year I read The Virgin Romance Novelist by Meghan Quinn and It was The Funniest Book I’ve read in a long time and Fire Down Below by Debra Anastasia is pretty funny too

  2. Juli Hall

It wasn’t released this year but I read it….Inn Boonsboro trilogy by Nora Roberts, just love her writing style

  3. Morgan Van Lier

I’ve read so many awesome books this year I couldn’t possibly pick a favorite

  4. Trudy Dowling

My favorite story was Weighting for Christmas by AJ Harmon. The story just talks to me. I grew up with the same issues that Kate Evans had to deal with. It was all handled in such a classy way. I have read it four times now and it just released Dec 1.

  5. Christy

I enjoyed One True Loves by Taylor Jenkins Reid. It was such a beautifully written story.

  6. Rita Wray

I loved The Choices We Make by Karma Brown. I couldn’t put it down. I also enjoyed Me Before You by Jojo Moyes.

  7. MK

Midnight Soul by Kristen Ashley … love her books! The heroine had been through so much and loved that she found her happy ending and her hero.

  8. Virginia C

So hard to pick just one! “Like Never Before”, by Melissa Tagg, is a very poignant and appealing contemporary romance. The part of the storyline featuring the struggles of a small-town newspaper in today’s digital world is near and dear to my heart.

  9. Eva Millien

I don’t think I read any chick lit this year, as I read mostly paranormal and urban fantasy, but I do like chick lit. Have a wonderful holiday season and thank you for being a fun blog to visit and for the giveaway.

  10. Mary C

One favorite is Before We Visit the Goddess by Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni. I enjoy reading stories that explore the relationships between mothers and daughters.

  11. Gail S

Susan Mallery’s The Friends We Keep. I don’t normally read a lot of ‘chick lit’, but I like SM’s writing and last year I read The Girls of Mischief Bay which was a good read and I wanted to see how she would carry the series forward. Her writing is down to earth and the story lines are very believable in this series. I normally read all types of romance and urban fantasy, but these reads were a nice easy departure from what I usually read.

  12. Cara Scott HaveBook WillSurvive

I have two favorite reads this year…American Queen and Moto.

  13. moosehog83

i’d say Dirty Sexy Saint by Carly Phillips and Erika Wilde because it was so wonderfully written and captivating that I couldn’t put it down… already loved the authors but together they are amazing

  14. Nadine Bookaholic

I’ve been fortunate enough to have read quite a few great books this year but I think my favorite would be “The Empty Jar” by M. Leighton because it was an Absolutely beautiful story of love, joy and sacrifice.

  15. Vicki Highley

I read all types of books and enjoy all of them otherwise I wouldn’t read them. I can’t name a favorite

  16. Linda Ortiz

I have many favorites that it is hard to name just one, but I will name a few. Deadly Silence by Rebecca Zanetti, Shadow Rider, Christine Feehan, Because of Miss Bridgerton, Julia Quinn, plus so many more.

  17. belindaegreen

I’m a huge fan of Kimani Romances! They are fast paced, engaging and allow you to escape into a world where anything is possible. I love romance suspense as well. A little drama along with a HEA is the best of both worlds. Romance in most forms I’m a fan of. MC, bad boys and cowboys are favorites too. Sam Crescent, Jenika Snow, Yvette Hines, & AC Arthur to name a few of my favs. Thanks for the opportunity to share. 🙂

    Belinda

  18. Gretchen

I’ve read several romance & romantic suspense that are my favorites this year. I can’t seem to pick just 1.

  19. Kathleen O

It would have to be Love, Alice by Barbara Davis. It was such a compelling story. It drew you right in from page one. It told of a love that would never die, and that even when you think you loved and lost someone you love, love can find you again.

  20. theresajs

What She Knew by Gilly Macmillan is one I read recently that I really liked!!! I like books that lean more towards the suspense/thriller genre.
I’m pretty sure most books on my list I read this year are probably not chick-lit. I love Darynda Jones – the Charlie Davidson series as I literally laugh out loud while reading those books but they are considered urban fantasy…

  21. Pennie

WOW – I have 180 reviews for this year and trying to pick a favorite would be like picking a favorite kid. Some were really, really good and some were ehh but passable.

  22. Janie McGaugh

I don’t tend to read books in either of those classifications. I mostly read PNR/urban fantasy and historical romance.

  23. Ellen C.

Kristan Higgins’ If You Only Knew…I like Kristan’s writing style.

  24. Inga

I enjoyed Sweet Tomorrows by Debbie Macomber because it tied up the series and closed it nicely.

  25. eawells

There were so many but three come to mind. Kristan Higgins’ If You Only Knew, Susan Elizabeth Phillip’s First Star I See Tonight, and Robin Carr’s What We Find.

  26. dholcomb1

I loved a Lowcountry Wedding, Echoes of Mercy, Twelve Days of Christmas were some of my favorites this year.

    denise

  27. smcmahon19

I love all types of romance books! One of my favorites this year was Punk 57. A story that surprised me… had twists and unexpected connections. Made me laugh, cry, question and really feel for the characters.☘

  28. Katrina Dehart

I read everything and can’t choose a favorite! There are way too many great books that I’ve read this year!

  29. Angel

Fav female was Justice from Bounty and Rowan from Darkwing Dragon, both were kicka** females

  30. Crystal Cox

I’m not exactly sure what is included in Women’s Fiction so I hope this one is right . I really enjoyed The Secret Ingredient of Wishes by Susan Bishop Crispell.

  31. lilah

Hmmm that’s a hard one to name just one… but if I have to .. I guess I’ll choose one that I’ve reread several ives over the yr and I still cry n gasp . Shes truly one of my fave all time authors and I’ve read mostly everything of hers.

    Kristen Ashley
    “Sebring”

  32. Terrill R.

I don’t consider typical romance books “Chick Lit.” or “Women’s Fiction.” I would have a totally different answer if you asked me what my favorite romance was for this past year. But as it stands, my favorite Chick Lit/Women’s Fiction book was One True Love’s by Taylor Jenkins Reid. I wouldn’t be able to read it a second time, b/c it was way too emotional for me, but it was exceptionally written.

  33. holdenj

Phone Fox’s Bedside Manners and Out of Practice. Lots of fun and great characters!

  34. LauraJJ

Oh I have to say I loved Mistletoe Cottage by Debbie Mason! Her books are always so romantic…and I LOVE the holiday books around Christmas! This was so good!

  35. Beth Rei

Loved Me After You by Jojo Moyes there were were a lot of other favorites

  36. Karina Angeles

My favorite is Fortune Favors the Wicked by Theresa Romain. It’s a historical romance with an unsolved mystery that the hero and heroine join to solve. Absolutely LOVED it!

  37. Natasha Persaud

I don’t have a favorite there are way too many to just choose one however to name a few I love My American Duchess, Last Touch by Laurelin Paige, It Ends with Us by Colleen Hoover

  38. wendy rinebold

My favorite book was All The Ugly And Wonderful Things by Bryn Greenwood. I thought it was so well written and even though the characters were all very flawed, I couldn’t help but root for them. I loved it.

  39. Banana cake

Susan Mallery’s the Friends we keep and Kristen Higgins If you only Knew, these see two of my favorite authors. Susan writes one women’s fiction book a year in addition to several romance novels. I love women’s fiction because they are usually happy with sad moments but they often explore our different relationships.

  40. Roslyn Groves

As a few here have also stated, my favourite WF title of 2016 would definitely be Kristan Higgins’ If You Only Knew. Now I am an unabashed Kristan Higgins fangirl, and was interested to see how her style in the romance genre would transfer over to womens fiction. Well….I adored this book. Kristan’s voice was still thoroughly present, and I was incredibly touched by the portrayal of female relationships, particularly those of sisters.

  41. Colleen C.

I have read so much this year… trying to choose a fav is hard! I will say that Adrienne Giordano’s books are at the top of my list!

  42. isisthe12th

One of my favorite chick lit reads this year is from a new Author to me Barbara Valentin. The name of the book is Flight Risk, it was a funny heart warming story with great characters. Thank you

  43. Terri C.

When We Were Sisters by Emilie Richards. I absolutely love the way she writes!

  44. Teresa Williams

Oh my There was so many great books in 2016 .Jill Shalvis ,Lori Wilde ,Lori Foster,Cat Johnson and Carly Phillips had several great books .Carolyn Brown is my pick of the best Cowboy Christmas Miracle and Merry Christmas Cowboy are wonderful books. She never disappoints the readers.

  45. Tanya Guthrie

This year I read 200+ books so far. I’m terrible at figuring out what genre is what. I read across a lot of genres so I don’t really pay attention to the classification, plus with over 200 books it is impossible for me to pick a favorite!

  46. Debbi Wellenstein

My favorite was The Opposite of Everyone, by Joshilyn Jackson. It is a wonderfully written book with great characters. Perfect!

  47. diannekc

My favorite chick-lit read of 2016 was “The Sound of Glass” by Karen White. The story had all the elements of a great story, family back story and the coming together of the fractured family and a bit of romance. Well written and a page turner.

  48. Amanda A

I would have to go with It Ends with Us nub C Hoover because she is amazing!

  49. Judy S

I pretty much have loved everything I read this year. Hard to pull one book out of the so many great reads.

  50. lorih824

I don’t have a favorite in these 2 categories this year because I haven’t read a lot in them however I do enjoy Rebecca Zanetti and Mary Jo Putney
    Merry Christmas

  51. Joanne B

I’ve spent most of this year rereading Kristen Ashley’s Colorado Mountain series and Rock Chick series, Dianna Palmer’s Long, Tall, Texan series, and I have started reading anything of Alexa Riley’s that I can get my hands on. Their books are a great escape from reality and always make me laugh.

  52. Joye

I loved reading Monica McCarty’s Highland Guard series-each featured strong heroes and heroines. I liked them because the writing was effective, the characters interesting and the stories believable.

  53. Jana Leah

Christina Dodd’s Because I’m watching kept me intrigued & rooting for the protagonists.

  54. BookLady

One of my favorites was In Robin’s Nest by Elizabeth Wafler. It is a wonderful mother/daughter story with memorable characters and realistic flashbacks to the seventies.

  55. Linda Herold

My favorite reads this year were romantic comedies and cozy mysteries!
