Romances To Heat Up Your Summer
Romances To Heat Up Your Summer
It’s kinda hard to believe that August is here. It seems like only yesterday my friends and I were busy planing how we wanted to celebrate the fourth. Now, Sept is slowly creeping and that means for my corner of the world summer is about over. :/ Since we still have a few weeks left to enjoy the fun of summer (which includes grabbing a book and hitting our favorite places) we have put together a short list of books to add to your reading lists.
This list contains books that we think are perfect companions for hitting the beach, taking on a hike, carrying to a picnic or simply sitting in the air conditioner in your favorite spots within your homes.
Whether you are looking for a beach read, a coming home story or a sizzling, romance novel this list hopefully will make you grab one of the titles we have chosen and hit your favorite spots.
Here’s the list:
–Â Home Sweet Home by Candis Terry.
For readers that love a military hero returning home and into the arms of the woman that he loves. This is a novella, meaning a short romantic read and yet it is not shy about the romance. It’s sure to win hearts and raise pulses.
– Second Chance Summer by Jill Shalvis
I know and I know that I keep mentioning this book on all of my lists so far, but it’s too HOT not to include it one more time. Crisp mountain air, a sexy fighter hero and a heroine that doesn’t think she wants love makes this story to irresistible for me.
– Discovering Delilah by Melissa Foster
This is a same-sex romance novel that is not going to be suited for all readers and yet I wanted to include it on my list. The romance in this book is exceptionally good and the story involves tragedy over a loss and the outcome of what it means of starting over with the person that you love most.
– No One Like You by Kate Angell
This is book is perfect for both romance fans and animal caregivers alike. The story is centered around a hunky, athlete hero who owns a small herd of wild, misfits dogs before hiring on the heroine to become his personal assistant. This story made me laugh and root for both characters to find their HEA together and is certainly worthy of a good time.
– And Then Forever by Shirley Jump
With a release date of July 28th nearing I wanted to include this story and the love that I have for Fortune’s Island. An unexpected romance, a sunny side beach town and love on the open ocean made this book so enjoyable.
– The Cottage Next Door by Georgia Bockoven
A magical cottage that is not what it appears to be, a hero and heroine fighting against all odds to be together and an ocean front view makes this choice an exceptional, summer read.
– Summer at the Shore by V.K. Skyes
I tend to fall in love with any story that involves a charming bed and breakfast and a hero that is more than eager to help out a heroine. That is what this book is all about.
– The Highlander Takes a Bride by Lynsay Sands
A list wouldn’t be complete without a classic, historical romance. I couldn’t think of a better romance book than this title by Sands. A husky Scot who falls for a strong-willed heroine with plenty of historical suspense to go around made this book one of my absolute favorites.
Which if any of these books will you be reading to finish out your summer fun? If none, what titles will you be reading? Please share with us as we would love to know your thoughts! 🙂

I love Second Chance Summer!! I feel like you can never go wrong with a Jill Shalvis book! Home Sweet Home sounds pretty good.

Kim, you are right as it is hard to go with Shalvis as an author!

The Highlander Takes A Bride and No One Like You are on my list.

Mary, The Highlander Takes a Bride was one of my favorite reads of the year. No One Like You is just as good! Hope you enjoy both titles! 🙂

I have read two books on your list and another one is on my wish list. I am looking forward to reading thrill me by Susan Mallery and several other books this summer. I will be finishing up several books on the iPad while on vacation next week.

I have the new Jill Shalvis book but haven’t started it yet. All three kids leave for college in the next 2 weeks so my reading time will be after that!

Sue, wow! Three children leaving for college must be a huge step for your household and sounds exciting. Hope you enjoy Second Chance Summer as well as other books in reading! 🙂

I am looking forward to the calm. My kids were the type that were very involved in band, cheerleading and softball. It will be nice to not HAVE to do those things. 🙂

They all sound good. I would probably pick up Summer at the Shore first.
