A Change of Plans by Robyn Thomas is a cute story that won’t take you very long to finish. Sara has been planning her wedding since she was really young. She even has files on her computer of exactly what she wants, when it comes to the wedding.
“It’s kind of a big deal because I’ve been planning it for twenty years.”
Only not everything goes as plans. Her fiancée decides he can’t marry her. She’s not who he wants. So Sara flees Utah and makes the seven hour drive to Vegas. Her first stop is a pawn shop where she intends to hawk her seventy thousand dollar ring. This is where she meets Ethan.
Ethan notices Sara pawning the ring and decides to take pity on her. He’s a good judge of character and decides to show her around Vegas. Before they know it, they are getting to know each to other. Sara finds out Ethan is a divorce attorney and Ethan realizes Sara is the type of woman who needs to be married.
What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas, right? Well after a night of too many drinks they wake up married.
I enjoyed Sara as a character. She was stronger than she seemed and she surprised me a few times.
I think this book could have been really good, had it been longer and readers had more of a chance to connect with the characters. I didn’t really feel as though Sara and Ethan were in love by the end of the book. I wish the characters were more developed and Sara and Ethan had a chance to get to know each other better. I also wish we learned more about Ethan and his family.
Overall, A Change of Plans by Robyn Thomas is a cute story and if you enjoy accidental marriages, this would be a good read for you.
