A Debt Paid in Passion by Dani Collins has an exciting story-line, written with the author’s usual emotion filled way.The varying degrees of emotions do keep you hooked and make this story an enjoyable read. The main characters sadly did not work for me because their actions left me confused most of the time.
Raoul is a domineering hero at first but as the story progresses he does mellow down. He was likable and though I was not swooning over him, I still found him to be a nice hero overall. Sirena left me confused most of the times because she does steal from Raoul and how can she expect him to understand if doesn’t explain to him why she withdrew a large amount of money his bank account? Another thing that bothered me was that Sirena didn’t come clean about being pregnant even when she was facing a prison term. I liked that she was a strong character and not a damsel in distress but her initial actions did put me off in the beginning.
Overall, A Debt Paid in Passion by Dani Collins is an emotion filled romance with witty dialogues and great chemistry between the characters. Though I wish it had better character development and insight, It was still an enjoyable experience with tension sizzling all around.
