A Pregnancy Scandal by Kat Cantrell: After having a flirtation for weeks, Alex and Phillip a-pregnancy-scandal-kat-cantrellgive in to the parks for a one night stand. But their one night stand became a much larger commitment when four weeks later Alex discovers she’s pregnant.

Phillip, a senator, has been looking for a wife, he needs one for his eventual run for presidency. Alex is all wrong for it, she’s shy and socially awkward, but, worst of all, he feels too much in her presence. After losing the wife he loved two years ago, Alex wants a marriage of convenience, no more love.

But with Alex pregnant, the best option is for them to marry. Only, feelings only grow stronger as Phillip fights a losing fight to keep his emotions in check and a wall built between them.

“But if you were hoping to avoid someone, this would be the opportune spot.” He leaned against the wall and crossed one ankle over the other. “No one would know you were back here unless they were already watching you.”
The shadows weren’t deep enough to cover her blush. “You were watching me?”
“Oh, come now.” He tsked. “When a woman wears a dress like that, surely it’s not a shock that a man would spend a great deal of time looking at her.”

I’m not much for the grieving and guilt in A Pregnancy Scandal, no matter how understandable, but I did love watching Alex, just by being the wonderful her, force Phillip to face his own emotions and allow himself to feel strongly again.

Both with emotional damage, they gave each other a safe place and pushed one another to allow it. Alex was definitely the more open of the two, and honestly it was kind of cute watching Phillip try not to be so attached when he so obviously was. He was a sweetheart trying to refuse his sweetheartedness.

I definitely wish there were more action than internal dialogue and analysis, but for pregnancy and faux-marriage fans I recommend A Pregnancy Scandal. It was a cute read with likeable characters and a real fall into love and devotion.
