Addicted by Amelia Betts: This is the first book that I have read by this author. It is a book about addictions, about finally finding yourself, about learning from you mistakes and learning to love yourself.
Mischa Jones is an overeater. She has been a member of Overeaters Anonymous since she was the age of 15. She attends the meetings, but never truly believes in the program. She has never spoken at a meeting, never shared her story, she just sits and listens. Until one night, she decides to attended a new meeting in a new location, and finds herself in the wrong meeting, Sex Addicts Anonymous! That is the night that changes things for Mischa, the night she meets the HOT, SEXY, very Sex Addicted chef, Liam Harrison.
Liam is a chef, former rock star, and is addicted to sex. When he meets Mischa Jones, he wants her, wants to have sex with her, pulls out all the stops to get her. But after the first time, he feels so guilty, that he says nothing, takes her home, leaves and does not speak to her for days. Problems in Liam’s life and problems in Mischa’s life force them to take steps back, force each of them to keep their distance, but they are never far from each others thoughts, but they need to keep their distance, or risk falling off the wagon.
Ok, I really wanted to enjoy this story, and I did, but at times, it was confusing, dream sequences that never really happened and such. I wanted to get excited about Mischa and her overeating, but really all she did was thing of food, Pizza, Taco Bell, McDonalds, Burger King, junk food, and when she wasn’t looking for her next food fix, she was daydreaming about Liam, daydreaming about the professor that she is helping over the summer. I really wanted Mischa to be a strong female character, but to me, she seemed a little wishy washy.
Liam had his own demons. But he made no excuses for them, he accepted them, even if he fell off the wagon, he owned his mistakes. I actually liked Liam much better than Mischa. There was some lightheartedness and funny moments in this story, but not enough to make me love this book. The secondary characters were kind of in the background, and with the exception of Mischa’s best friend Gracie, they were never really developed so I had a hard time connecting with them and their connection to Mischa.
In the end, it was an interesting read, Liam and Mischa had potential, and in the end, I did enjoy the way that the author handled their relationship. If you are looking for a book dealing with different types of addiction, and learning to love yourself then this is a book you might consider.

Just one taste . . .
The only thing worse than a food addict falling for a chef is a food addict falling for a chef with a sex addiction. And yet somehow that’s exactly what I’ve done. With his tall, fit body, mischievous smile, and sexy Australian accent, Liam is double-chocolate gelato: a sinfully satisfying dish I can’t stop craving. He says we’re good together, that we can make each other better. But what if he’s wrong? What if we’re just feeding each other’s addiction? What if just one taste of Liam is too much?
