In After One Forbidden Night… by Amber McKenzie, Successful ER physician Dr. Chole Darcy is secretly in love with powerful, charismatic vascular surgeon Tate Reed but as her best friend’s ex, he’s strictly off-limits.

After her best friend’s breakup with Tate, Chole shared a forbidden night and the guilt she feels regarding the same continues to plague her. She is convinced that despite their obvious and strong attraction, nothing can come off it but the consequences of their one forbidden night changes their lives forever.

After One Forbidden Night is a well written angst filled medical romance with an interesting premise. The focus stays on the main characters and though there are many secondary characters, they don’t take the focus away. Chole is an independent and strong heroine who is easy to understand and I could totally sympathize with her. Tate has a borderline alpha personality and could be really irritating sometimes. It was frustrating to understand him sometimes but there were also some moments in the book, where I totally loved him. Both the main characters share an amazing chemistry and therefore their romance is believable and enjoyable.

This book is linked with Resisting Her Ex’s Touch by Amber McKenzie and can be easily read as a standalone. There could be a third book in this series on Ryan and Erin who feature in this book.

My only complaint is that the story felt incomplete to me somehow. I can’t pinpoint what it was exactly but maybe the length of the story could be a little bit longer to get a proper closure? hmm…!

Overall, this was an enjoyable medical romance with interesting medical details and well written characters.
