An Innocent to Tame the Italian by Tara Pammi  is a sexy workplace romance for a tech savvy heroine and the man who hires her to work for him, and play the part of his new fiancee.

When Natalie Cresotto hacks into Massimo Brunetti’s company at the request of a long time and trusted friend, she never expects Massimo to be able to track her down. But her second infiltration of his software left one too many clues and now she’s been caught out.

Instead of having her arrested for her illegal forays into his company, Massimo has a better plan. First, he wants her to work for him as a cybersecurity expert to find any other loose ends that could cause him problems. There have been a string of bad luck incidents lately, and he wants to figure out who is behind them. Second, his attraction to her makes him think of another plan that will be benefit him – Natalie can pretend to be his fake fiancee to get his interfering matchmaker grandmother off his back. Natalie doesn’t have much choice since she knows the alternative is jail. But how long can she resist the sexy Italian on his own turf?

I enjoyed seeing a smart and competent computer savvy heroine in this story! Natalie’s reasons for hacking Massimo in the first place are shrouded in mystery – we know only that she did it at the behest of someone who has helped her for several years, especially as she is trying to get custody of a brother she’s only recently learned about. And we know that this friend has some connection to Massimo and his brother Leo.

Natalie and Massimo’s connection happens quickly and leads to some sexy love scenes. Much of the story takes place in Italy along Lake Como at the Brunetti estate, a gorgeously described setting. Natalie isn’t immune to Massimo’s obvious wealth but she also never went public with any of the secrets she learned about his company because she isn’t a thief, nor interested in taking advantage of him. She won’t take advantage of him now, though when he offers to pay off her debts she accepts grudgingly for the sake of her brother. Trust is something neither of them is good at so they have their ups and downs and make a few mistakes before they get to their happy ending, complete with a sweet epilogue. The location and characters make this an enjoyable read and I’m looking forward to reading more of the series!
