Blackmailed by the Billionaire Brewer by Rachel Lyndhurst: Wow, what a great read! This is the story about Piper Reilly, a twenty-six year old woman that is trying to make ends meet while she supports her pregnant younger sister, keeps up with the bills and the mortgage, as she is getting her beach-inspired jewelry and craft business off the ground. While she is on Sanibel Island collecting shells and supplies for her next big order, she finds herself a little drunk and hooks up with the gorgeous Matt DeLeo, a bartender and drifter. Unbeknownst to Piper, Matt is actually a billionaire and he is scoping out the island for new business opportunities. Their one night stand is more than memorable, especially when Piper ends up temping for his brewery company in the small town of Passion Creek, Colorado, where they both just happen to reside.
Matt needs a beautiful companion and a poster girl for his new pink beer that he is unveiling next month. Piper is perfect for the short-term assignment, even though she does not want to do it. In her mind, a one night stand remains a one night stand. However, Matt convinces her that she spilled her guts during their rendezvous, and uses blackmail as well as his powers of persuasion to get her to agree, which she does reluctantly. However, the sexual chemistry between them and their developing feelings for each other, overrides the deviousness of the deal.
I enjoyed this book so much that other books authored by Ms. Lyndhurst have now moved to the top of my TBR pile. My attention was grabbed from the very first chapter and I spent almost every available minute devouring this well-written book. I love to read about women that are real, with problems and circumstances that I can identify with. I also enjoy a good fairytale, and this story combines these two pleasures perfectly. Piper puts the needs of her family as well as her newly adopted pet, a Bengal cat, ahead of her own, which is quite admirable. Overtime, she evolves and is able to see that her needs are equally important as well.
Matt is the ultimate hero. He has worked very hard to achieve the billionaire lifestyle, yet he has never forgotten how he got there. Matt comes to Piper’s rescue on more than one occasion and uses his charming good looks and sense of humor to seduce her, over and over again. He has some alpha tendencies which gives the sex scenes an extra kick of steaminess. Matt begins to see life through Piper’s eyes, which results in a love story that is hot, passionate and sexy. Overall, a great romance that should not be missed.
This book is a hot new addition to the already incredible Indulgence line from Entangled.
