Blushing in the Big Leagues by R.S. Grey: There is just one rule that Tate lives by, absolutely no dating baseball players! Regardless of how cute and charming they might be, there is no way that she will get involved with one of them knowing the way that they can behave. Which is why she is so determined to keep her distance from Grant Navarro. You see it all started as an innocent double dog dare from her two besties, how was Tate to know the hottie from the party would be non other than the newest Pinstripes player and her brothers new teammate Grant? Now that Tate knows who Grant is there is no way that she can entertain these annoying feelings that keep bubbling up around him. The only problem being Grant doesn’t seem to agree with Tate’s plan to pretend that there is nothing brewing between them…
“It’s a dangerous game we’re playing. Beneath the surface of our banter and barbs, it’s a raging wildfire. We’ll burn each other before this night is through if we’re not careful.”
Blushing In The Big Leagues was incredible! This slow burn, sports romance was addictively indulgent with all the tension and angsty build up brewing between Tate and Grant. As always Grey knocked this book out of the park (pun so intended), not only was this a witty, sassy, fun read but I loved that Grey added in a layer of forbidden romance between Tate and Grant.
I just loved Tate, she was a total sweetheart. One of the things that I loved the most about her was her drive and conviction to following through with her decisions. I also really liked that she was so dedicated and passionate about her work and all of her patients. Now for our hero Grant, well he was book boyfriend perfection! This guy rocked the entire man in charge energy, I loved that he took charge of his feelings for Tate in a decisive way but also took her fears into account. More than this I just loved the way he handled telling Luke about their relationship, this was just swoon worthy.
“It feels like a thousand lifetimes have brought me to this moment on the floor, on my knees before a woman I love.”
The connection between Grant and Tate was insane! These two characters had such explosive chemistry that only grew was the book progressed. I loved the fact that Grant was so clear about his feelings for Tate and that he wanted to make things work between them. As for our girl Tate was a bit more flippy floppy on committing to her feelings, granted she had her own self imposed no dating a player rule. However there was no avoiding the inevitable, these two were truly made for each other. Though I will say that their relationship was definitely a slow burn build, normally this would be tedious but Grey made it work for these two.
I’m a huge fan of supporting characters and this book had then in buckets. Firstly I loved that we got to see Luke, Chloe and Harper again and how thing have been going for them. All the supporting characters in this book were amazing, I just loved that Grey has built a group of friends that all need their own books! We need to know what is going on with Daphne and Dustin, all that tension and drama, we need their story asap!
Blushing In The Big Leagues was one of Grey’s best books to date, this book was slow burn perfection with a touch of forbidden romance, all wrapped up in one hell of a cute sports love story. A total must read from me!

I have one simple rule: don’t date professional baseball players. There are no exceptions, no workarounds.
“What if—”
No.
“Could he—”
Nuh-uh.
With a brother in the league, I’ve seen the good, the bad, and the downright horrifying. Those guys might seem tantalizing when they’re in uniform down on the field, hitting grand slams in front of a crowd of adoring fans, but I know better. The huge egos? The insane travel schedules? The veritable buffet of female companions? No ma’am. Professional athletes are best handled at a distance, preferably far enough away that their chiseled jawlines blur into oblivion.
Enter Grant Navarro.
He’s the baseball player to end all baseball players. The one I should have marked with a big red X the first moment I laid eyes on him. Only the night we met (and kissed—oops), I didn’t know he was my brother’s newest teammate. Imagine my shock when I realized the sexiest man in Manhattan was officially off limits. Just my luck!
Let the record show that I had every intention of following my rule and staying away from Grant. When he smiled that irresistible smile and those dimples popped, I stood my ground. When he made it very clear he’d love to pick up where we left off the night we met, I said, Hold it right there, partner. When he messaged me all sorts of naughty things on Instagram, I logged out of that app so fast I dented my iPhone screen.
Baseball players are bad, bad, bad.
So tell me why giving in to Grant just for a night, getting one taste of what could be starts to seem not just tempting, but downright mandatory.
Yeah, about that one simple rule…haven’t you heard?
Rules are meant to be broken.
