Brazilian’s Nine Months’ Notice by Susan Stephens is the third book in the Hot Brazilian Nights Series and can be easily read as a standalone. For chambermaid Emma Fane, her best friend’s winter wedding promises to be the perfect distraction for her troubles. Until, heart racing, she spies Lucas Marcelos, infamous lothario and father to her unborn child!
Lucas may have lost his head over innocent, spirited Emma for one glorious night, but he won’t lose his heir! He lures her away from snowy Scotland back to sultry Brazil. But Emma is no man’s mistress. It only took one night to change their lives, now they have nine months to face the consequences.
This was a well written romance set in some really beautiful locations. I liked Emma because of her desire to be independent and her unwillingness to loose the same. I loved that she rebelled when Lucas forced to give up her financial independence. She had some serious backbone and spirit. Lucas, on the other hand, I honestly did not understand. There was nothing I found striking and he was not a very memorable hero for me personally because of his arrogance which was definitely not sexy in this case.
The dialogues and chemistry was good but overall, the romance could have been a lot more better. Overall, Brazilian’s Nine Months’ Notice by Susan Stephens is not one of the author’s best and compared to her other wonderful works, fell a little short for me personally.
