Burn My Hart by Clare Connelly is the second steamy story in her Notorious Harts series. It’s about a couple who take full advantage of their ‘sex only’ fling only to discover that maybe they want something more.

Charlotte ‘Asha’ Sauvage has worked hard to contribute to her family’s business empire with her innovative Fleurs Sauvages beauty company. She doesn’t have time for a relationship, but a fling with sexy, charming billionaire Theo Hart is well worth the time they spend together. Hot sex is definitely on the menu, but with Theo clear up front that he’s not a commitment kind of guy and when things cool off it’ll be time to say goodbye, she’s going to guard her heart against any kind of foolish feelings. The trouble is that as time goes by, it’s harder and harder for her to keep things in perspective. Falling for Theo is a mistake – or will Theo have an equally important change of heart?

I loved this steamy romance! Yes, it’s sex that brings Asha and Theo together in the first place, but they gradually get to know each other, sharing things with each other that they don’t share with others and building up trust between them. Both come from money so are used to luxuries but also don’t have to worry that the other is interested in them for their fortunes. Asha runs her beauty company and Theo is in charge of the shipping part of Hart Industries. Both being workaholics means they understand and support each other, and can make allowances for the other when work interferes with their plans.

Their individual family dynamics are complicated. Asha’s mother died giving birth to her and her father’s grief has left her essentially without either parent. Theo’s got half brothers (including one who turns out to be not related to him at all) and is trying to keep the close relationship he has with his brothers on track. He’s disillusioned about love and witnessing the debacle of his parents’ relationship and keeping Asha at arm’s length (from his heart if not his body) is the only way he feels he can keep control. But when the time comes to say goodbye, it’s not quite so easy. The way to their happy ending requires some hard truths and compromises, and the ability to admit their true feelings. It’s a thoroughly enjoyable romance and I look forward to reading more of the series!

This year, I’m giving myself the ultimate birthday present. For one night, I don’t need to be cautious workaholic Asha Sauvages of the Fleurs Sauvages beauty empire. And Theo Hart—notorious billionaire Hart brother, Greek god and sexual perfection in the flesh—is exactly the man to make it happen. Happy naughty birthday to me! But I had no way of knowing that one night with Theo would unleash an ocean of wanting more…

The rumors about Theo’s prowess in the bedroom (and out) aren’t exaggerated. His power and strength, his skill and attentiveness. He is every inch delicious, rugged hotness, and I am completely addicted.

Just as long as I remember his only rule: this is just sex.

Just as long as I remember that this isn’t—and never has been—about love.

Nothing lasts forever. But this insatiable chemistry between us is definitely not getting the message. Now I’m falling for a guy who won’t let himself fall in love. Because every moment he ignites my body with his touch, he incinerates my heart. And soon, all that will be left is ashes…
