The opening chapters of banter and the setting of the scene is gold! The back and forward banter is fun and fresh and very cleverly helped me learn about the two main characters, their differences and how they both happen to be sitting in James’s office on this particular day. It had the something extra from the standard office romances.
The lead up to the James and Ellie letting their walls drop with each other was smooth and the scene of a romance on a beautiful tropical island is a glorious scene changer from the corporate environment. I was on board (no pun intended) and fully believed in James and Ellie’s pairing. Watching James come to the stunning revelation he’s in love with Ellie was an emotional fist pump moment because Cathy Williams did a fantastic job of delivering Ellies heart break.
I really enjoyed Claiming His Cinderella Secretary. Cathy Williams wrote a very enjoyable conclusion and I loved the appearance of James’s siblings and their open arms welcome of Ellie. I really liked that I finished the story with a smile. I would recommend to anyone who enjoys finishing their books with a smile, who enjoys great banter, not too much angst and great banter with a side of psycho ex-girlfriend.
