Crazy, Wicked Love by Melissa Foster is a delightful dose of romance!

Sidney Carver knew when she joined the Marines that she wanted to be a K-9 handler. When Sidney and her K-9 partner Gunner were injured while on a mission Sidney didn’t know what she would do with her life after her medical discharge from the service. But Gunner Wicked knew.

Sidney and Gunner had been best buddies while serving in the Marines together. They talked about opening an animal rescue together when they retired from the service. After Sidney was wounded and medically discharged Gunner didn’t hesitate. He did not reenlist and went home to his family and the Dark Knights at Bayside and opened Wicked Animal Rescue where he welcomed Sidney with open arms so they could fulfill this dream together.

Sidney moved into Gunner’s farmhouse at the site of the rescue and for a couple of years the best friends did what they both loved to do – rescue animals. Then something changed. Sidney knew she had always loved Gunner as more than a friend. But Gunner, while he was a caring honest,dedicated man, was also such a “one-night-stand” kind of guy and Sidney was tired of dealing with him bringing his women home to the farmhouse. Crazy, Wicked Love by Melissa Foster is the third book in her Dark Knights at Bayside series. This was a delightful read for me. This book is filled with so much love, care, protection and family togetherness. I loved seeing all this in Sidney and Gunner. For such a big tough guy Gunner is quite the romantic. Sidney is one lucky lady! Gunner’s gift to Sidney at the end of the story and what it was he was saying to her is over-the-top romantic. Swoon…

Melissa Foster has once again filled her story with characters I’d love to know. I loved how Gunner’s mother described couples falling in love. She puts it as they find their “do or die.” Swoon again… Then there are the kids. Front and center in this book are Leah and Tank’s kids, Junie and Rosie. The scenes that include them are so darn cute, especially at Leah and Tank’s wedding. They choose what the Best Men will wear. Chuckle. There’s so much to enjoy in this book!
