Crossing Two Little Lines by Joss Wood Jamie Bacall-Metcalfe meets Rowan Cowper in a charity gala and got trapped in an elevator. Sexual attraction between them surges instantly but nothing happens then except a scorching hot kiss. They see each other for a second time and finished the evening in bed. Weeks later, Jamie founds out she’s carrying Rowan’s child. How could Jamie and Rowan handle this unexpected surprise?

Jamie is widowed and five years since her husband’s death, she still carries a lot of guilt and grief. Rowan is an abandoned child, going from one foster home to another in his childhood. He’s a self made millionaire but his only attempt to love failed because his fiancé cheats on him. Something they have in common? Neither of them want commitments nor long-lasting relationships. He believes that love only brings pain; every people he loved in the past left him. She doesn’t want to fall in love again after her husband dies in a car accident. They’re not willingly want to risk their hearts again.

“They were quite the pair.
Both scared, both damaged, both fighting the pull of their deep, profound attraction.”

Jamie’s road towards happiness is full of guilt and most of the story we see her clinging to her deceased husband so she didn’t let her emotions grow. This side of Jamie was a bit frustrating to me. On his side, Rowan’s constantly trying to feel unattached from Jamie and craving it at the same time is really exhausting. That said, this couple is made for each other. They have a lot of chemistry and their passion—when they’re not fighting against what they feel about the other—is unique.

What I enjoyed most about this book is the scenes between both hero and heroine and Jamie’s brother Greg and his husband, Chas. They’re so funny!! I LOVED those guys with all my heart.

I had the privilege of reading Ms. Wood’s latest four books prior to this one, so I was expecting A LOT from this story since those four books were great. And you know what? Crossing two little lines is as marvelous as they could be. I missed an epilogue on it—Jamie and Rowan needed a sweet one with a bunch of babies!!—but I can say that the ending is fantastic.
