In Dangerous Surrender (The Serafina: Sin City #4) by Katie Reus, when Taylor’s boss and the father figure in her life is murdered right before her eyes, she barely escapes with just a bullet grazing her. She runs to to Vegas, to Vadim, the one friend who she completely trusts to help her. But DanSurrVadim isn’t there…not knowing what else to do or where else to go, Taylor breaks into his house anyway, for temporary refuge.

Roman, former military and also a friend of Vadim, gets an unexpected surprise when he checks Vadim’s house and finds Taylor there. Discovering she really is a friend of Vadim’s and in danger, he is determined to protect her and find out the truth. What starts out as a favor for a friend soon becomes much more, as Taylor and Roman give in to the boiling chemistry between them.

Taylor finds herself in the middle of something she never imagined as a killer is determined to silence her at all costs. She also finds herself drawn more and more to Roman…not as her protector but as a man. Together, they try to stay one step ahead of danger as they surrender more and more of themselves to each other. As well as they work together in the face of danger, will they stay together if the threat ends? Neither of them was looking for anything and danger has brought them together in more ways than one.

Katie gives us a great couple in Dangerous Surrender! Roman is a total protective alpha who captured my heart. I really like Taylor also. She is a computer guru and investigator caught up in a murderous plot. She is fearless at times, but at the same time has insecurities that make her all the more real and believable. Roman and Taylor work well together and I love how Katie brings them together fast and furious. I like the connection they have, the dialogue between them, and the hot chemistry they don’t even try to deny.

Dangerous Surrender is part of The Serafina series by Katie Reus, but it stands very well on it’s own. I have read the previous books, and did enjoy seeing some of the previous characters again, but they are on the periphery enough that you don’t have to have read the previous books to completely fall into Dangerous Surrender. (Although I highly recommend them!)

Dangerous Surrender is fast paced, suspenseful and sexy. The quick pace and speed of the plot makes the speed of Taylor and Roman’s relationship believable. Dangerous Surrender is the perfect length for the story to be told. Katie manages to pull all the elements of romance, suspense and action together smoothly.

I highly recommend Dangerous Surrender to all romantic suspense readers.

A cold-blooded killer wants her dead.

After her friend is murdered right before her eyes, Taylor uses her wits to escape with just a bullet wound, thankful to be alive. But now the killer isn’t the only one after her—the cops are, too, and Taylor’s not sure she can trust them—or anybody else in her life in California. She decides to turn to her old friend in Vegas, racing there with just the clothes on her back, only to arrive and realize he’s off on his honeymoon. Desperate, she breaks in and crashes.

A former Marine is determined to protect her.

When former Marine Roman MacNeil finds a gorgeous stranger unconscious and bleeding in his friend’s shower, his first thought is to help her . . . until she tries to knock him out with a vodka bottle. Lucky for Taylor, Roman isn’t a man who goes down easily. When he realizes the trouble she’s in, he’s determined to protect her—whatever it takes. As they’re thrust into a deadly situation they discover an attraction they never bargained for. But a determined killer is closing in, and time may be running out.
