Dear Jane by Kendall Ryan: Jane has grown up loving football and she’s made it her career with a key position in the front office of the football team that her father coaches. She’s gotten her job entirely on her own merits and she’s earned the respect of the players along the way. She’s smart, dedicated to her job, and has almost no life outside of football.
Weston is a top quarterback in the league and has used his focus and dedication to get to the top of the game and stay there. He’s dedicated to doing his part for the team, on the field, in practice, and in training. He’s beginning to see that while his laser focus allowed him to live out his dream, maybe he’s missed out on other things along the way.
Jane and Wes were that couple in high school: young, in love, and convinced they would be together forever. Both were devastated when the relationship crashed and burned in college and they haven’t spoken in the decade that has passed. Jane is quite understandably very displeased to learn that Wes managed to be traded to her team right before the start of the season.
“Dammit, don’t be like that. I’m trying to apologize, and you’re just crapping all over it,” I snap before I can get a hold of myself.
Her lips press into a tight line. She scoffs low and angry in her throat. “Then maybe figure out a better apology.”
Once they get a chance to get past the initial awkwardness and spend time together, it’s almost as if the last ten years melt away. They connection seemingly snaps back into place with banter, shared jokes, and memories that are steamy, bittersweet, and heartbreaking. Starting over again isn’t easy as they have to deal with the past, their own baggage, and other’s opinions.
“As in, cook together?” That mental picture is so domestic…and appealing. “I’d be up for that. Although, I have to warn you. I’m totally useless in the kitchen.”
“Don’t worry, I am too. We’ll figure it out if we put our heads together.” She stands up. “Okay, I see Dad coming, which I think means it’s time for both of us to get back to work.”
Dear Jane is a sexy, emotional, second chance romance. Kendall Ryan provided tension, angst, romance, friendship, family, and plenty of heat. Ms. Ryan developed quite the entertaining and opinionated cast of characters. Fans of Kim Karr, Roni Loren, and Jaci Burton will enjoy Dear Jane.

I broke her heart ten years ago and left town.
She hates me, and rightly so. It doesn’t matter that the rest of the country loves me, that I’m a starting quarterback with a multimillion-dollar contract. Because when I look in the mirror, all I see is a failure who was too young—and too afraid—to fight for what I wanted.
But I’m not that guy anymore, and all I need is one shot to convince her.

He has no idea what happened after he left. And now I’m supposed to work alongside him like we don’t have this huge, messy history?
But I’m older now, wiser, and I won’t let anything stand in my way of doing a good job for this league. Not even one overpaid, arrogant player who thinks we’re going to kiss and make up.
News flash, buddy: I am over you.
