REVIEW: Delectable by Adrianne Lee

The only thing better than a foodie book, is a second chance at love foodie books. Delectable (Big Sky Pie #1) by Adrianne Lee is the best of both worlds. You get great food, a wonderful story about a second chance to fight for and hold on to love with both hands. This was truly an amazing story.

DelectQuint McCoy was devastated at the loss of his father. Blaming himself for not taking the time to spend with his dad, he shuts himself off, shuts himself down, and runs every chance he gets to go fishing, as he should have done with his father. In hiding in his grief, not opening up, he pushes away the one person that understands exactly what he is going though, the one person that wants nothing more than to hold him and grieve their loss together, his wife Callee. To late, Quint begins to realize that fishing doesn’t solve all of your problems, and his actions may have cost him the love of his life.

Callee McCoy is only back in Montana to pick up the last of her belonging and to say good-bye to the beloved mother-in-law that has always treated her like a daughter before moving to Seattle to try and start a new life. She is totally shocked to find out that Quint is not only back in town, but about to walk through the front door of Big Sky Pie, his mother’s new bakery. Still feeling a strong attraction to Quint, Callee tries with all her might to fight falling into his arms and is terrified that she is in for nothing but heartache if she doesn’t get out soon.

Though a series of events, Callee and Quint are forced to join forces and work together to help get Big Sky Pie up and running. Both realizing that they still have strong feelings for each other, that neither of them wants the divorce that they are headed for, can they realize that they have the perfect recipe for a ever-lasting love, or will they pass on their second chance on a HEA.

What I loved the most about Callee and Quint is that you can tell from the first page in this book until you reach the very end that these two, despite their mistakes and misgivings are totally meant to be together. The love that they have for each other was like a living breathing entity in the room. As they try to weed their way through the events taking place, they learn things about each other and about themselves that they never knew. It was truly touching to see their love story re-unfold in the pages of this book. I loved this story so much once I picked it up, I could not put it down. So if you are looking for a wonderful second chance love story with a side of Sweet Cherry Pie, pick up Delectable by Adrianne Lee. You will not be disappointed. I gave this story 5 sassy stars.

Montana real estate agent Quint McCoy will tell you that the most important thing is location, location, location. It’s a lesson he learns all too well when he goes incommunicado for a four-week fishing trip to Alaska. While he’s away, his mother Molly turns his office into the pie shop she has always dreamed of, Big Sky Pie. But that’s not the only surprise in store for him.

On her way out of town, Callee McCoy only wants to say a fond farewell to her beloved mother-in-law. But Molly soon persuades Callee to stay and lend a hand at the new shop, even if it means heating up the kitchen with her soon-to-be ex. As Callee and Quint rediscover their recipe for love, they realize that some couples are so sinfully good together that one delectable taste is never enough . . .

This is a book I wouldn’t have picked up, based on the cover, but I trust your opinion, so I will give it a shot! Thanks for the review!

Sharlene, once you read the first book in the series, this one, you will want to read the rest. This series is that good.

This sounds like a great book. Just like you said a goodies book and a second chance romance. I can’t wait to read this.
