In Dirty Charmer (Royally #5) by Emma Chase, Tommy Sullivan has worked hard to earn a stellar reputation as a bodyguard and has turned it into a growing business with his best mate Logan. But he also has a tendency to play every bit as hard, with casual hookups and nights at the pub part of Tommy’s normal routine. After landing in the hospital, he comes face to face with an angel. Abigail Haddock might be his attending physician, but he wants to have her in his life in a much more intimate way. Too bad the beauty is as buttoned-up as she is smart. It may take him a while, but Tommy is convinced he can win over Abby’s affections. And that it will be the best thing that will ever happen to them both.

I’ve never felt more alive than I do in this moment, kissing this lovely lass…
“That…you…that… That was completely inappropriate!”
“It really was.” I nod, pushing a hand through my dark hair. “Want to do it again?”

Abby has become accustomed to having a huge amount of pressure in her life. First, her wealthy family is the leading example of class and nobility in Wessco. Second, she’s working her way through medical school to become a surgeon. While Abby might dream of having fun, going out with friends–of which she has pitiful few–and perhaps even dating, it’s not in the cards. Until Tommy Sullivan kisses the daylights out of her. Then Abby sees what she’s missing. When it appears that her studiousness is hampering her performance at work, she agrees to a non-emotional physical arrangement with Tommy. She’s more than happy with their chemistry. It’s when Abby finds herself longing for a future with the rugged business owner that she knows she’s in too deep.

‘Tommy Sullivan is a protector. A shield. A guarder of bodies and minds. I’ve seen that–I’ve felt it.
So I have to believe that whatever these feelings are and wherever they may lead…he’ll be careful with me.’

Dirty Charmer is right! Emma Chase always writes a swoon-worthy hero, but businessman bodyguard Tommy Sullivan had the dirty-talking, protective, affable charm readers will crave. And our heroine? Well, let’s just say that nerdtastic good girl Abby more than held her own against Tommy’s outrageous ways. Sigh…

“Oh yes. The human body is a miraculous thing. Infinitely fascinating.”
His gaze drags slowly down over me.
“Some bodies are more fascinating than others.”
I know anatomy well–and from what I can tell, Tommy Sullivan’s is first-rate.

Okay, my face actually hurts after reading Dirty Charmer, I smiled and laughed so much. But, this IS an Emma Chase romance so I should have expected it. Tommy and Abby were a riot. And holy hotness, but were they on fire when it came to the romance scenes. There’s just something about the combination of Chase’s uber modern, fun and sexy writing voice (in which she used so many entertaining alliterations this time) paired up with our brawny hero and aristocratic geek-chic heroine that worked exceedingly well together. *Loved them* so much.

This story actually followed Tommy and Abby over quite a long period of time. They didn’t fall quickly into a relationship even though the attraction was there from day one. I really enjoyed the way things built between them. You just knew that some of the hurdles Abby and Tommy would have to overcome would be how they were opposites in so many ways, with him being from a working class family, and she from basically modern day nobility. But beneath Abby’s studious, overly serious ways and Tommy’s unapologetic life of the party attitude, they were both genuinely good, caring individuals. And I think they saw that in each other right away. How can you not cheer on two such kind souls to find true, lasting love together, yeah?

Be prepared to gasp in delight, laugh until you have tears in your eyes, and give more than a few happy sighs when you dive into Dirty Charmer, Emma Chase’s latest winner of a romance.

Abigail Haddock is stunning, sensible, and some would say…stuffy. But it’s not really her fault. She was raised in one of Wessco’s oldest, most affluent, aristocratic families—“stuffy” is their middle name. So is successful. Abby’s working overtime to distinguish herself as a top-notch physician, just as her family legacy demands.

She doesn’t have time for nonsense.

Tommy Sullivan’s all about nonsense.

Sure, he’s an elite bodyguard with lethal skills and co-owner of the renowned, S&S Securities Firm—protector of the wealthy and titled. But he’s also rowdy, fun and thoroughly irresistible.

Tommy knows how to have a good time, and he’s never seen someone more in need of a good time than Abby. The lass needs long, wet, filthy kisses—STAT—and he’s just the man for the job.

It doesn’t take long for a wildly sexy, sinfully satisfying, no-strings attached arrangement to turn into something more. Something sweet and addictive and real. But Tommy and Abby are too royally stubborn to admit it.

Opposites attract, everyone knows that. But can they last—can they love…for forever?
