Dockside Danger by Carol Ericson LAPD detective Jane Falco investigating a homicide believed to be caused by a domestic dispute. When FBI agent Tim Ruskin shows up, she knows he’s hiding something in regard to her case, and soon realizes there’s more to the case than initially believed.
With a partner who keeps disappearing to deal with personal issues, Jane reluctantly joins forces with the FBI agent. The villains are always one step ahead, leading them to believe there’s a leak within the LAPD. Jane, new to the department, is torn about who she can trust within it, all while knowing she has no choice but to put her trust in Tim, the one person who previously lied to her and broke her heart.
Jane is determined to follow her instincts to get to the bottom of the murder, despite others within her own department considering it an open and shut case. She stands her ground and doesn’t let anyone stand in her way. She also doesn’t let Tim get away scot-free for previously lying and using her on a previous case. Tim respects Jane and, despite what happened between them before, truly did care about her and wants to prove it. They work well together as a couple and as work partners.
Well-written and action-packed with an intriguing storyline, Dockside Danger is a treat for fans of romantic suspense. While this is the third book in The Lost Girls series, it can be read as a standalone.

I don’t read a lot of romantic suspense but this sounds very intriguing.
