REVIEW: Expecting the Earl’s Baby by Jessica Gilmore

Expecting the Earl’s Baby (Summer Weddings #1) by Jessica Gilmore:Daisy Huntingdon-Cross was used to doing things on her own. She had a great family and she knew if she needed to she could fall back on them, but she was determined she could do it on her own. The family didn’t need her to screw up things any more than she already did.

Sebastian, Seb, Beresford was an Earl and a professor, oh and also struggling to keep his head above water with his family home. He was determined to keep the press and the public out of his life though. Seb needed to live by the “rules” and wanted everything to be proper.

Thank you mother nature for your Valentine’s day snow storm that stranded Daisy at Seb’s home. Now with neither of them knowing who the other was or that things could go much farther than a one night stand you may never guess what is coming. However fate can be fickle and can play games so when the truth comes out who will be left holding the cards? Or will they both fold before the game is over?

Wow, talk about people with two incredibly different family backgrounds and baggage to bring into a relationship. It’s hard to imagine such things in this day and age but Ms. Gilmore’s writing really conveys a bit of reality into this fairy tale. Yes the story is a bit far reaching but the fantasy is great and does have some reality thrown in. Seb’s character was so frustrating but to see his turnaround in the end I have to give Ms. Gilmore credit for that, I actually ended up liking him which I wouldn’t have thought possible.

Expecting the Earl’s Baby  by Jessica Gilmore is a story about believing in yourself, but believing in those that love you and realizing that you aren’t always right and sometimes what is right in front of your face is real. Pick up this novel for a feel good heart warming read.
