In Fan Service by Rosie Danan, The long-running TV show The Arcane Files has been a huge part of Alex Lawson’s life since her teenage years. To the point that she created an online wiki archive for superfans like herself. The only drawback is that the show’s star, Devin Ashwood, was nothing in real life as he appeared on the show the one time Alex met him seventeen years ago. So, when Devin contacts her to help him with a situation, she’s not inclined to do so. But he shows up in her tiny hometown of Tompkins, Florida, and seems sincere that she’s the only one with enough knowledge about the show who can assist. Alex just didn’t realize Devin is convinced he’s turning into a werewolf, just like his character Colby did. As insane as it sounds, though, the Hollywood heartthrob is right.
‘In no way was she prepared to engage with the possibility that (1) werewolves might be real and (2) Devin Ashwood might be turning into one.’
Devin knows he’s been holding on to the hopes of doing a reboot of The Arcane Files for way too long. But he still feels like Colby has more to offer his fans. Although he begins to wonder if his mind is playing tricks on him when he seemingly turns into a werewolf in LA on the night of a super blue blood full moon–just like his TV alter-ego did. Looking for answers, Devin comes across a fandom with more info on TAF than he has ever seen. Contacting the moderator is a long shot but he gets a response from Alex and decides to head to Florida. He has nothing to lose at this point. But instead of theirs being a clinical, business only partnership, Devin realizes that Alex brings out the best in him and makes him feel like he matters. And just when things begin to really heat up between them, the next full moon is upon them with his control over his wolf barely hanging on.
‘Devin wasn’t having a mental breakdown. He wasn’t making things up for attention. Something impossible was really happening to him.’
A shifter romantic comedy with lots of heat and a diverse cast, FAN SERVICE was another offbeat but wildly entertaining novel by Rosie Danan.
“I don’t know if it was the moon or fate or the universe that made me a werewolf, but, baby, you made me human.”
If you like your paranormal romances infused with campy comedy and an opposites-attract couple, then FAN SERVICE might just be for you. Author Rosie Danan basically took a small-town rom-com and added a Hollywood legend who suddenly turns into a werewolf, much like his character on TV did. And as we followed Devin Ashwood while he flees from LA to tiny Tompkins, Florida for help from one of his superfans, Alex Lawson, Danan had me chuckling with how much of a fish out of water Devin truly was. He was kind of clueless in the funniest of ways. Used to having a team around him taking care of everything, he struggled to fit into the new hierarchy and more often than not Devin ended up putting his foot in his mouth when it came to Alex.
But there was a sweetness about Devin–and Alex–that made his other Hollywood-type traits more laughable than annoying. And I had to give Alex kudos for not letting him get away with any of it. She had a reason for having some issues with Devin after a past interaction. And it colored her views of him until she began to learn the truth of his childhood including things that the media wasn’t privy to that changed Alex’s perspective. That was the point where their relationship began to grow more romantic. And with Alex trying to help Devin control his wolf before the next full moon, it complicated things drastically. But the mix of tenderness, possessiveness, and heat between them? It was everything. And it made me cheer them on to find some way to stay in each other’s lives–which they did in the most fitting of ways.

The truth is stranger than fan fiction in the next sexy paranormal rom-com from the beloved author of The Roommate.
The only place small-town outcast Alex Lawson fits in is the online fan forum she built for The Arcane Files, a long-running werewolf detective show. Her dedication to archiving fictional supernatural lore made her Internet-famous, even if she harbors a secret disdain for the show’s star, Devin Ashwood. (Never meet your heroes—sometimes they turn out to be The Worst.)
Ever since his show went off the air, Devin and his career have spiraled, but waking up naked in the woods outside his LA home with no memory of the night before is a new low. It must have been a coincidence that the once-in-a-century Wolf Blood Moon crested last night. The claws, fangs, and howling are a little more difficult to explain away. Desperate for answers, Devin finds Alex—the closest thing to an expert that exists. If only he could convince her to stop hating his guts long enough to help….
Once he makes her an offer she can’t refuse, these reluctant allies lower their guards trying to wrangle his inner beast. Unfortunately, getting up close and personal quickly comes back to bite them.

Sounds like and interesting story. There were several can’t miss shows like Dallas, Remington Steele, Hart to Hart and The A-Team.

Hmm, not really. Unless you count anime series, then that’ll be Sailor Moon.
