In Following His Heart by Donna Fasano, Sara Carson has a busy life with her business, her two best friends and her ill mother. But things are about to change for her and get a little crazy, beginning with a broken pipe thanks to a cookie sheet that hit it just wrong, causing chaos in her kitchen, and almost destroying her cookies. So she calls one of her best friends to shut down the water, only she is busy cooking for the people at her restaurant and can’t shut it down since it would mean she can’t make coffee.
Landon Richards is in Ocean City because of a feeling that he needs to be close to the ocean. After his surgery strange things happened to him, things that no one in his family understood. But after they sold the ranch and he no longer had ties to home, he decided to go on a road trip and follow his feelings, which is how he finds himself in Ocean City where he meets three very close friends with some maintenance troubles that he feels he can help with. Starting with Sara, the woman he cannot get out of his head after first seeing her soaking wet after saving her cookies.
As they spend more time together the more the chemistry and attraction grows between them, but Sara still has not fully let go of her deceased husband and is having a hard time adjusting to letting herself enjoy life again and possibly love again. But she is not the only one with problems adjusting, since his surgery Landon has been having dreams and visions that have led him to Ocean City. He has lived his entire life in Kansas and never seen the ocean, but he has such vivid visions that it’s almost like he was living in them, but he cannot explain it to anyone, and no one understands. Which is why he has such a difficult relationship with his sister and her husband at the moment. Only he thinks that there is more to his visions that he hasn’t discovered.
There are things tying Sara and Landon together that they don’t know about yet, and things that will be difficult to assimilate. But if they will have a chance at giving their growing love a chance, they will have to get past that and only look towards the future and the chance they have been given.
I can’t wait to read Cathy’s and Heather’s stories, each of the three best friends has their reasons for hating or staying away from the opposite sex, but sooner or later the right man comes along to change that way of thinking and they will not be easily swayed.
If you want a sweet and entertaining read, don’t miss Following His Heart by Donna Fasano.

Sara Carson is a 30-something widow with a busy life. Two fun-loving best friends, a caring mom who needs her, and a thriving sweet shop. What more could a woman want? But when the ancient plumbing in her shop springs a leak and a gorgeous, dark-eyed stranger rushes to her rescue, hilarity unfolds—and Sara quickly sees exactly what she’s been missing.
Something most peculiar draws Landon Richards to Ocean City, Maryland—and to the lovely Sara. This woman touches his heart like no other, and the two of them explore the heady attraction that pulses between them. But haunting dreams have a way of encroaching on reality, and the strange phenomenon that brings these two together will also threaten to tear them apart.
This is the first book in the Ocean City Boardwalk Series, where life for three enterprising women, Sara, Heather, and Cathy, isn’t just fun in the sun—love is waiting on those sandy shores!
