From Bridal Designer to Bride by Kandy Shepherd: Tori Preston and Josh Taylor are good friends. When Josh
shows Tori a picture of a woman in a glossy magazine, she is flabbergasted. The woman looks just like her, except for hair style. Tori was adopted at age two and has always felt something was missing. She even had invented an imaginary friend.
The woman in the magazine is Eloise Evans, a bridal gown designer in Australia, which is a world away from Tori’s hometown of Boston. Josh travels for his business a good bit, so Tori enlists him to track down her possible twin sister. The two conditions are he can’t tell Eloise about Tori and he can’t get too involved.
Josh meets cute with Eloise, thanks to an adorable rescue dog. Tori had always been Josh’s platonic friend, but Eloise, with her special style and grace, has him smitten from the get go. Josh had planned to go home the day after this discovery, but next thing he knows he is roped into being a fake fiance’ to help Eloise avoid ruin from a vindictive bridezilla. Can Josh avoid telling Eloise the truth and try to have a long distance romance or is that impossible for two people who have demanding careers and hurts from the past?
Josh was my favorite character. He had a very rough family life that had been torn apart when he was a teen. He had persevered and been come a huge success. He was afraid to give himself away, which was understandable. He ultimately has a good heart.
The reader learns more about Eloise. She is elegant and successful, but seems to hide her loneliness behind being a workaholic. Tori has a big heart and has helped Josh through rough times. It seemed authentic to me that both twins had feelings that they were missing something. There have been many accounts of twins adopted and raised apart that had so much more in common than appearance.
There is just the right amount of spice in this uplifting novel. This novel is part of How to Make a Wedding duet. The second one will be From Tropical Fling to Forever by Nina Singh.
