Her Billionaire Protector by Nina Singh: Adam Steele was hired by his best friend, Brant Terrance, to protect his little sister Ani. Ani was a musical genius and was leaving Dallas to go on tour in Europe.
Adam had always like Ani when they were growing up but felt like he wasn’t good enough for her. His parents had left him as a young child and his uncle had reluctantly taken him in until he was eighteen. He had deliberately stayed away from her, but now she is receiving anonymous emails from someone and needs his protection. Her father and brother insisted on hiring Adam and his security company to investigate the emails and protect her during her tour.
Ani had a childhood crush on Adam and had never outgrew it, but Adam had always been standoffish towards her. Now they are forced to work together and the attraction between them is harder than ever to ignore. Can Adam risk opening up and letting Ani close?
The book started out good but then seemed to drag then the ending seemed rushed. It had a good storyline, but it was hard to connect with the characters. Ani seemed very immature and was obsessed on living her life for her dead mother. She didn’t like the celebrity attention she received but felt she needed to continue touring because her mother would have wanted her to. Adam had been in the Army and had seen a lot of destruction during his tours on duty. He kept himself closed off from people so he wouldn’t get hurt. They both had internal obstacles and lacked communication between them. Overall, I didn’t care for the characters, but it was a short book so the time to develop the characters was limited.
