His Accidentally Pregnant Princess by Jennifer Faye: Princess Cecelia knows she has to get away from her palace home. She has suffered a breakup with her boyfriend and the paparazzi are following her if she goes out. Since French is one of the languages in her home country, she decides she will go to Paris until things calm down. She sees some paparazzi outside the hotel where she has reservations. She decides she will try to sneak in the back.

That decisions changes her life. As she tries to get Into the back door she is assaulted by someone who grabs her purse and knocks her to the ground.

When Cecelia wakes up she is in a hospital with a strange man sitting besides the bed. He tells her he is Antoine and he found her on the ground unconscious with a head wound. He asks who he could call for her since her purse with all its items are gone. Suddenly, she realizes she doesn’t know who she is or anything about her life. After checking her over, the doctors don’t find any serious reason for her amnesia and tell her it may take time, but she should eventually regain her memory.

Antoine offers her a job cleaning out the chateau his grandfather left him along with the vineyard that is also on bad shape. He tells her she will call her Cherie. Cherie works extremely hard on doing a complete deep cleaning of the house. She is charmed by the big home and also Antoine.

They decide they can have a fling with no strings attached until she remembers who she is. Unfortunately, “Cherie” becomes pregnant and the situation is complicated. Will Antoine, who has stated he never wants a family, desert her or will he step up and do the right thing?

You have to admire Cecelia/Cherie. She has been through a lot between the paparazzi who had hounded her at home and adjusting to a new life, not knowing who she is. She certainly displays a strong work ethic along with kindness. She has to face some serious decisions when she finds out she’s pregnant.

Antoine had a very difficult childhood and youth. He’s afraid to form any kind of bond with women. He fears his background may ruin any relationship. For all of that he is a very caring man. He was her “knight in shining armor” in taking care of “Cherie'” after she was hurt. He takes her into his home without knowing anything about her. You can see that he wants to move on from the past by getting and chateau and vineyards in good shape to sell them.

The location of the chateau and vineyard really lent a lovely tone to this book. Although many of us like the convenience of having what we want nearby, most of us have to admit that an isolated place would be comforting.
This novel is the first in a new series by Jennifer Faye. I felt like I took a return trip to Rydiania since I had read the books in the previous series set there. I look forward to the next princess story.
