Hockey Boy by Brittanee Nicole: When Aiden and his fiancee walk in to meet with their wedding planner, the last person he expects to see is Lennox. The last time he saw her, she was ending things without giving him a reason. He’s so struck by seeing her again that he becomes impulsive. He finally sees why he can’t marry his fiancee and ends the engagement after leaving.

Lennox needs to plan this wedding to prove a point to her family. When Aiden meets her to see the venues the next day, he doesn’t tell her that the engagement is off and instead keeps planning the wedding with her. She can’t help but picture the plans for the two of them and tries not to let the underlying feelings grow that never truly left.

When Lennox finds out the truth, she immediately panics due to her job, but Aiden offers to be her fake fiance in order to access her trust fund. They have one rule though: no one is allowed to fall in love this time around.

Lennox has been through a lot from the get go. I think she had a lot of strength to deal with everything. One thing that really threw me was how quickly Lennox was willing to leave her job for Aiden’s family. She was very set on making a name for herself, but she very quickly left her position for them. It seemed out of character.

Aiden is one of the more complex male characters I’ve read recently and I think he was my favorite in this book. His internal struggles take center stage for a lot of the book and was one of the more accurate representations that I’ve seen. Even though he tried to hide it from everyone for majority of the book, the way he and Lennox worked through it together really showcased how they worked as a couple.

There was a lot of secondary characters though which made it hard sometimes to follow the story. I had to look back to understand which person was who at times.

Overall, the book was really good. I loved the dynamics between the different characters and their relationships. If you are a fan of Hockey romances with Boy Obsessed, Second Chance and Fake Relationship tropes I would recommend checking out this book.

Lennox Kennedy is beautiful, loud and the love of my life.

She’s also my ex-girlfriend.

The first time I saw her after ten years apart, I slammed into the plexiglass minutes before our game was set to begin. The second time I threw up. But third time’s a charm apparently because as my fiancée and I walked into an appointment to meet the woman hired to plan our nuptials–there she was again.

Obviously, I did what any smart man would do–I called off the wedding.

I don’t have a plan per se, other than winning back the only girl I’ve ever loved.

As a future hall of famer and one of the best centers hockey has ever seen, I know a thing or two about winning, but convincing Lennox Kennedy to give this hockey boy another chance might just be the challenge of a lifetime and this game I’m playing may turn out to be nothing but a pucking disaster.
