It Started at a Wedding… by Kate Hardy: Claire Stewart made dreams come weddingtrue. Designing wedding dresses had been her dream since she was little. Her best friend was always there to support her in this and in all her dreams. When Claire’s mom died she found solace with her best friend and no matter what she would always be there for her, so what happens when the airline loses her best friend’s wedding dress? Yep, epic meltdown and panic then fix it mode. That day and that grown up behavior of fixing things would be the beginning of her grown up life.

Sean Farrell knew how to plan. Ever since his parents passed away that was how he dealt with things, he planned. He ran the family toffee business, he had relationships that wouldn’t hurt him and he did anything and everything he could for his little sister to make sure her world didn’t fall apart any more than it already had. Now she was getting married though and her flighty friend has lost her dream dress. He had to fix this and he had to fix it now, not for Claire but for his sister. So he heads to her shop to make sure his sister is going to be happy.

Claire and Sean have been at odds with one another for years. There is a really weird chemistry between the two of them that neither can explain and neither wants to explore either, after all if they do and it goes wrong what happens to Claire’s best friend and Sean’s sister? Though maybe it’s because of a wedding or maybe it’s solving a problem together but for whatever reason it looks like Claire and Sean might just have something to explore.

Ms. Hardy has written an interesting story. The genre is not complicated, sisters best friend/best friends older brother, but it is what she does with the story that makes this novel a joy to read. Ms. Hardy has given the main characters enough quirks and crazy factors to make them interesting and to make the story do more than just flow, but to really reel you in. There are a couple of minor slow points but overall this has a good pace and is an easy happy read.

Pick this up if you are interested in something light and loveable with great characters and an enjoyable plot.

Thanks for the review, Valerie. Best friend’s brother is one of my favorite tropes, so I’ll have to read this book. 🙂
