Just in Time for Christmas (Southern Born Christmas Book 2) by Kim Boykin: Miranda Hamilton and Logan Mauldin had been pestering each other since they were in diapers it seemed. Everyone knew that, after all Magnolia Bay was not that large a town and since those two came back everyone knew that they were always going to be the fly in each other ointments. So when Logan gave a huge donation and decided he wanted to be co-chair with Miranda everyone just thought this was another way to get at her.
Logan thought that too, after all he had been making her life miserable for years, right? So why was he starting to look at her differently? Feel jealous of the other man she was dating? What was going on? Would Christmas bring joy to these two? Or would it just prove that there aren’t Christmas miracles and that when you start out trying to burn someone else you are going to get burned?
Ms. Boykin takes us back to Magnolia Bay in this great Christmastime story where fairy tales come true. Her characters are real, with hurts, with pasts but with redeeming qualities that make it so hard not to root for them. While this story is part of a series it can be read as a standalone though it will make you desire the rest of the “Chicks” stories. Prepare to open your heart to new Christmas traditions, to seeing things in a different light and to realizing sometimes when we open our eyes to the future it’s standing right in front of us.
