Larenzo’s Christmas Baby by Kate Hewitt is a part of One Night With Consequences series and can be read as a standalone. One blissful wintery night in Larenzo Cavelli’s bed changed Emma Leighton’s life forever. By dawn she knew two things: Larenzo would spend the rest of his life behind bars, and he would never see the baby their union had made.
Two years later, Larenzo’s name is cleared and he will get his life back…starting with Emma. It was deception that imprisoned the self-made Sicilian, so what will he do when he discovers Emma has a Christmas secret he might never be able to forgive?
Larenzo’s Christmas Baby by Kate Hewitt was a well written romance with a new take on the one night pregnancy trope. I loved how the author tried to make this story different and she did succeed in holding my interest throughout.
Emma is a sweet heroine who never gives up on Larenzo despite everything. She tries her best to make things work even when her other half is determined to the opposite. She had her own vulnerabilities but she stayed strong throughout putting her child and Larenzo first. Larenzo is an alpha male who has been wronged terribly, it is not easy for him to commit or trust anyone. I understood his insecurities but I wished he too was as invested in the relationship as Emma. He was a nice person but his determination to remain emotionally detached for a long time did not sit well with me.
The pacing seemed a little off at times but the amazing chemistry and the sizzling romance made Larenzo’s Christmas Baby by Kate Hewitt an enjoyable read.
